If there are no ad breaks its a worthless programme- Certainly commercially anyway.
Unless you are called the BBC - then all about justifying the license fee but generating programming audiences.

It's the audience in ad breaks that matters - commercial audiences.

Amazon also got a free ad campaign from CH4.
Makes no commercial sense for CH4!

CH4 did it because they are not in the private sector.
There were no add breaks - So no incremental money at all all.
They actually lost money paying for the feed and losing the scheduled ad breaks.
It not not make commercial sense but creates a great argument to use with the Government to prevent privatisation.

The financial risk of having the ‘bully’ on air is far greater - plus possible damage to ITVs reputation and shareholder value.

Read a theory elsewhere that Drahi could have lent his state out for others to go short during this period when he can't buy any more shares anyway - He can buy at a lower price later.
It kind of makes sense - For him anyway.
