IMHO he is too weak.

Weak people don’t listen to opposing views and so formulate a considered judgement - Instead they are always ‘right’.

Strength is needed to listen.

His biggest problem is it’s likely that no one around him stands up to him and tell’s him the truth that doesn’t want to hear?

He’s that emotional I probably would and then get extremely upset?

Let’s hope it doesn’t get to that.

That’s why I was convinced he would do a deal with Apollo - Likely the most accommodating PE outfit around?

If he hadn’t made a complete hash of running a PLC he could have done well but his personality was certainly not suited to the role of CEO and he has well and truly burnt his bridges so to speak.

Not sure he could raise the money and keep control.

Same dilemma as with PE.

He is going to struggle to keep control at THG certainly if he hasn’t found a “benevolent fairy godmother” before June/July as it all takes time.

I suspect it's the red lines around control and so selling parts that were not clear prior to the approach. Even Kelso talked about splitting the company so it had been raised without Matt lashing out or dismissing. I am sure Apollo are still interested but not under Matt's nrewly disclosed rules.

Some strength and depth on the buy side but given it's fallen so far and is oversold it's more surprising it has not bounced earlier?
