Matt needs to start to deliver for all his shareholders or buy us out?

THG is a PLC not his own plaything.

He is answerable to his shareholders.

Thankfully he has relinquished the Golden Share so the shareholders can now ultimately decide THGs future.

I suspect if MM resigned tomorrow the the share price would soar on the certainty that it would be broken up and sold.

Releasing all that pent up shareholder value!

That’s what makes Matt’s position so ridiculous.

Yes it does represent a possible short term trading opportunity?

But I worry the positive Metta news is more about Metta increasing their share of the digital advertising market rather than the overall market growing as before.

I suspect overall digital advertising market will continue in the slow lane for the foreseeable future?

I completely disagree with your suggestion on all levels (mainly as it makes absolutely no advertising/media, business or financial sense) but I respect your right to hold your views.

However please also remember that both Charles Allen and Sue Farr are just Non Executive Directors of THG - NOT part of the executive management team.

The difficulty for S4CAPITAL is that it was launched as a high growth business.

Growth was to be fuelled by acquisitions.

So original valuation was based on future prospects and growth.

Today there is significantly lower growth outlook due to both macroeconomic factors and the freezing of growth via acquisitions that started over 18 months ago.

Until the clouds lift it’s difficult to see a brighter outlook and so a higher share price.

A tough call at the moment.

I would estimate you have to bring your average price down to c.180-200p to be fairly certain of at least breaking even or at least a making a small profit within the next few months? I don’t expect a serious pull back as even last Wednesday’s questionable purchase didn’t seem to impact the current uptrend.

So it up to you how many you buy and when but IMHO there is little point waiting before starting to average down.

But please DYOR and it’s just my opinion.

MBO was always my least likely scenario but recent events including the City AM purchase now makes it the most likely scenario by a country mile!

I have absolutely no confirmed reason as to why Matt bought City AM but I can categorically tell you it makes absolutely no economic or business sense from THG PLCs point of view.

Let’s see what develops but I don’t expect there to be an opportunity to ask Matt at the next investor conference call as it won’t happen.

Fortunately no one cares at the moment.

Matt’s newly grown personal wealth is to be invested elsewhere very soon.

As a private company the City AM purchase is irrelevant but it makes absolutely no sense within THG as a PLC.
