What are the rest of you doing with your dividends ?, So far i have i have pooled all my dividends together, from lloyds,dlg and len and holding as cash on account, so to average down on couple of my shares should there be a market correction, not sure if that's the right thing to do though as it might not happen, in which case i could be losing out

Hi Soton, with Hargreaves there's an Ongoing charge: 2.24% and a yield of 5.78%, think i will stay away from that one, will stick to my 4 favourites lgen,dlg,mng,aviva

Next week will be the last time i will be able to do the prediction game guys, as i will be away for a few weeks, but if someone else fancies taking it over, please feel free

I've tried all ways to win this, going high going low sticking in the middle, I guess i will never be top investor here :-( sad face lol
not too much of a drop, hopefully it will make it's way up again next week

Hi Soton, sorry but i haven't been able to get back to you until now, good choices there i think for the reasons you mentioned, lgen is my second holding in my sipp next to Lloyds and i also have Aviva in my isa, to be fair to the more recent vod holders, if they bought in here last year around 103 to 110 then i can understand why they would be happy with this share around 7% div, and they would also be in profit when the sp rises to 140, but a lot of the longer holders like myself are under water here, but as dan has pointed out to me before that was in the past, so the choices here for me are either sell at a loss, or top up should this drop down again or do nothing
what a strange day mate Dan on the happy pills? hope we don't get a Dan on steroids tomorrow, or it might be safer to stay away lol, Hi Dan only joking mate

Robina, you have a large variety of shares, which would you say has been the best performer? By that i mean paying a good dividend and increase in capital inline with inflation

Dan, you haven't got away with anything lol, but I'd love to know what that perfect alternative is ?, The growth stocks seem to have gone into reverse gear at the moment

What's the alternative Gary, do you have somewhere else in mind ?, I'm still hoping my Lloyds shares will reward me, maybe after the buybacks have finished perhaps, just hoping the wait will be worth it, maybe next year perhaps

Sd, i think lloyds share price being held back because of the huge buyback, hoping it will bring rewards eventually, i live in hope with that one

Well good luck with that sd, i have 25% of my portfolio tied up in lloyds, which has been a bit of a drag, but at least they are paying dividends again now, just good to have that flow of dividends coming in while waiting for some good news for a change

No problem Dan, that's all done and dusted i think, we all gave our opinions on that one, and we are never all going to agree on everything, we just have to accept that
anyway an interesting cple of days ahead now, hope all goes well

SD, nothing wrong with a combination of funds,trusts and shares, they all have their good and bad runs, but what I'm saying is nobody can take my lgen dividends back off me they are mine to keep, and I'm pretty confident the sp will be back at £3 plus at some time

we may even see a drop tomorrow, from people taking profits before exdiv, Dan something we discussed the other day, let's see what happens there ?

SD, ok but now please tell me about the ones that haven't been doing so well ???, I have already told you about smt one of the most popular and arguable one of the most successful trusts, I used to have 11 funds which were all doing ok, I have gradually reduced them down to 6, my remaining most successful funds the likes of fundsmith, and similar, they were all doing very well making good gains, but since the inflation announcement which had a bad effect on tech stocks, although they are still in profit, the value has been dropping off them, ok it has started to slow down a bit now, and of course this will do a uturn at some point, but i don't think we are anywhere near that point yet
for me I'm seeing better value in high dividend shares right now, just my opinion and observation's of course, as always dyor

Smt investment trust was one of the best performers, but has dropped from £15 to £8 and still dropping, just saying guys i think dividend shares are a much safer option right now IMHO

Mikey, I'm not going to comment on anyone else, as everyone is entitled to their opinion, personally I have never heard you being offensive or insulting to anyone, except in retaliation, personally i have found most of your posts amusing, remember your just just as entitled to post on here as anyone else, if someone doesn't like your posts that's their problem not yours, your not forcing anyone to read them, I think everyone is aware that nothing you post is going to make any difference to the share price, so you do what ever you want to do, and whatever that is

csdi/banburyboy/oldguy1/stevebt, I would like to thank you all for sharing your opinions on PSN, one things for sure we have been in a very unpredictable world the last few years, I have a selection of high dividend shares, which i like to try and improve on by topping up when the share price drops below my average, that way you know your improving the value of the shares you already own
when buying a new share your unfamiliar with, you always have to be mindful that you can lose more money on your capital than you receive in dividends, although there's never any certainty it will go in the direction your hoping for, its good to get a number of opinions from other investors, I agree this one seems like it's worth holding onto, and if not rewarded this year will collect the dividends until and wait for recovery
