Bearded dragon
"The Oromia Mineral Development Authority (OMDA) has formally requested the Federal Ministry of Mines to revoke three “renewed exploration licenses” held by Hong Kong Xingxu Mining International Investment Co. Ltd in West Wellega Zone, citing “material breach” of federal and regional mining laws, non-performance, and procedural irregularities." Kinda of good development.
"The situation on the ground demonstrates that other mining and exploration operations in the region have continued without disruption… clearly undermining any generalized justification for inaction,” the letter stated." Basically kefi has got on with while the Chinese outfit sat on it arse in brach of the rules. Also shows regional appreciation of kefi.
"OMDA’s letter further says that the licenses have led to local grievances and formal investor complaints over spatial overlaps with other mineral rights holders, warning these unresolved conflicts threaten investor confidence and regional governance." Damages the Ethiopian mining industry really but the damage could be reversed by restoring the areas to the investor complaining about spatial overlaps."
"No regulatory or administrative support shall be provided to the company or to any of its affiliate partners or associated entities,” OMDA wrote, adding that internal notifications had already been issued to relevant Zonal and Woreda offices to ensure implementation of this decision across the region." Basically the region is going to cut them off at the knees.
This whole "deal" and it's exposure has done kefi a favour really now things are out in the open and the only clean way out of this mess is the restoration of the areas to kefi.
