If they are using solid oxide duel cells ACTA will have no involvement as I think we Are alkaline. As far as I am aware the cheapest source of hydrogen is reforming natural gas. ACTA will probaby be next as the alkaline fuel cell is cheapest. Thats why ACTA are half the price of ITM. Although I dont think we Are marketing the car industry just yet because I dont think the pressures Are quite right. When they get established in the telecommunications they can then then look at automobile. Dont need to say - don't forget the scooters.
Poorly written article, nevertheless its coverage. Getting mentioned alongside AFC & ITM is good. Thats why I have mentioned them before. If we get a sizable order or two which could be soon then a market cap of $50 million is possible. I think we are a better company than both. AFC 1megawatt this year. Maybe 5 megawatts next. They Need 20megawatts to breakeven. I sold a few alkane energy shares. They have 60-100mw capacity with a market cap half of AFC. Good week last week . I'm in CAP & OXA. Thats twice Abromavich has bought into One of my shares. Need him in here for a hatrick.
Chap over on ADVFN gave his reason for selling up yesterday: As much as I like the long term story on this stock, and bit by bit it is going along the right path, I just can't justify to myself holding this based on the published numbers. Am sure in the long term it will probaby do well, its the short term risk that worries me. So basically how can I justify holding a stock worth 11.6m when in 2012 it sold 0.4m .......................................................... I think for me it is a buy and hold. There should be orders from the trials and hopefully then the market will look at the potential. ITM havn't increased their capacity 4 fold for example. I think we are in a better position than them & I dont think anyone on here would disagree. So with any reasonable order there could be a significal rerating.
No idea. Nice rise here on Friday. If you check the iii website the OXA management felt that the time to be buying was when the tipsheet said sell. They don't say much but that could be significant. It influenced my decision to buy + the huge drop in shareprice, near commercilisation, low cash burn etc. Spread 12.5 % - not great
http://www.fleetsandfuels.com/fuels/ngvs/2013/08/cap-dual-fuel-macks-for-ups/ August 10, 2013 The ten new LNG-fueled trucks will operate out of the UPS facility in Ontario, Calif. “and perform real-user operations,” CAP says. They “will in aggregate travel over 100,000 miles per month, which will provide invaluable information and data on performance and reliability,” states a release. They are to be fully operational in October. There is a fueling station capable of handling both compressed natural gas and liquefied natural gas at the Ontario facility. CAP’s designs can likewise accommodate either. ‘We Are on Track’ “UPS is one of the most innovative leaders in the development of natural gas vehicles in the United States,” CAP CEO John Pettitt said in a release, noting that UPS has disclosed plans to buy hundreds of natural gas trucks. “This testing agreement,” he said, “confirms that our development program for a U.S. Genesis-Edge product has reached an advanced stage… “I am now confident that we are on track to deliver a product capable of servicing the growing demand seen in the U.S. for natural gas vehicles.” CAP Rolls Its Own “All CAP Dual-Fuel technology is available for use with either CNG or LNG,” says business development director Kevin Campbell. “With the density advantages, and UPS’ existing station, LNG made the most sense for these tractors,” he told F&F. “Cost advantages in some regions may favor CNG. This is a customer decision. “The LNG fuel storage design is ours,” Campbell adds. UPS has been operating nine LNG-fueled Navistar International tractors with Caterpillar C12 engines with Clean Air Power dual fuel technology since 2002. They have each completed over 1 million miles. Funding for the latest initiative has been provided by the Californian Energy Commission under ARVTP, the Alternative and Renewable Fuel and Vehicle Technology Program, CAP says.
Tom has had a bad run. I think he is from a different aera. ie he is past it. Hasnt adapted to the modern world of chat rooms etc. Some good generał advice on the ACTA iii board. Civalised bunch of posters. Good luck and I suppose Do YOUR OWN RESEARCH.
Acta (LON:ACTA) Beaufort Securities July 25 2013, Acta released an update on its commercial activities and the future outlook for the six months ended 30th June, yesterday. Among its major activities during the period, the company launched an advance energy storage system, named Acta Power and has contracted for paid trials from multiple mobile network operator companies. The product addresses the backup requirements of telecom base stations in off‐grid or bad grid locations in Asia and in other geographies. Paid-trials have been initiated with two telecom operators in Australia and Africa. Besides, Acta is in negotiations with few more companies for the same. The product is also being promoted by the commercial partners of the company in Africa, Middle East, China and Russia. In July, the company also announced the first UK paid trial of its technology in a wind turbine application to address alternative use of the renewable energy not accepted by the national grid due to its limited capacity. Acta has received many repeat orders for its electrolyser systems with a rise in the orders and shipments of its larger electrolysers (500L/hr and 1,000L/hr). The company has increased production levels to meet the growing demand for its products and solutions and has also organized an internal customer service team. The company sees more business going forward through early stage roll-out of new trials and larger, second-stage evaluations of the existing trials. In a separate announcement, the company announced signing of a new contract with a Philippine-based customer for a trial of Acta Power back-up power system in partnership with a local technical support company, SMS Global Technologies. Our view: The growing demand for paid trials of the company’s newly launched Acta Power is a positive signal for the future business prospects. The Acta Power system is cost-competitive over the battery and diesel systems because of the lack of requirement of battery or fuels. The system also faces lower theft risk compared to its traditional counterparts. Besides, in July, Acta also launched a technology addressing the usage of the alternative energy that is not accepted by the grid and we see a huge potential for this system in the near future. Considering Acta’s unique set of patented technologies, strong order book, and the massive potential for back‐up power systems, we believe the company has strong business prospects going forward. We maintain a Speculative Buy for this stock.
Lets Hope we start to get a bit more publicity. Looks like more patience required. Don't think ACTA can do much more than they are doing right now. May need to look at how they sell themselves to the market. Increasingly, I am sure we will get there though.
Hi Copout, Some people here will be familiar with AFC energy. They market themselves as an energy company. Last year they released a report (Peet) where they said they needed 20mw to break even. They are 2-3 years from that. ie we must be 5 years if front of them and their market cap is currently twice ours. This is a simplistic comparison (they have good backing) however I think this helps give some perspective.
Aggieuk, I bought in here last week. Not aware of any news. Not an expert on the company either but if they have 5 million cash, their cash burn is very low and they should be commercial towards the end of the year + the product/s do have significant potential then I can't see how you could go wrong with current share price/ market cap. If they were worth 10p+ a few months ago, why 5p now? Bit of a delay thats all.
Bought in here today. Recently sold out of AFC as I think there could be better shorter term opportunities elsewhere. ALK is a few years in front on AFC and half the market cap. Tech. Do you have an opinion on ACTA. I think they could do well but would appreciate your opinion or anyone else here for that matter.
Someone said we have been tipped by RHPS Does anyone have å target price.
Thanks trebor2010 -may have payed too much for them. I think wasabi will make it but it is only my opinion. Lets hope so. It must be one of the nicest companies around to Invest in. The environment needs wasabi . Hope that dosn't sound too corny.
Transfered my isa allowance in here today. Should have done this sooner. Nb bought wasabi å few years ago but sold. We must be must be near the bottom.
