Good to see the finance department being strengthened, with the current CFO being moved up to FD and a new CFO appointed who has lots of experience.

The share price is still in a long-term uptrend from the Oct'22 lows but has slipped along with the recent poor markets.

The current year forecast from Singer appears to be for 0.168p EPS, which at the current 1.45p is a P/E of only 8.6.

And REAT should now have approaching £1m net cash to support growth and and perhaps make a further acquisition.

Liberum have raised their target price to 29p (from 27p).

And they state that this valuation is at "the bottom end of the valuation range for CROs".

Forecast net cash at the end of this month is increased to £28.4m, and EPS for the year about to finish is raised to 1.3p.

Liberum have raised 2024 forecasts a touch "at this stage", but "clearly FY24E is looking increasingly underpinned and there may well be scope for upgrades".

Touchstar has embarked on a strategy to extend it's market penetration to North America and Canada. As a market-leading European supplier there is already huge interest within the US market as epitomised by the recent press coverage in two leading industry magazines.

WH Ireland's update note out today is unsurprisingly rather positive given the November update (hi jk400, I get mine from Research Tree).

They note that DKL are "well on track to exceed our production estimates for the full year".

The CPO division alone is forecast to achieve around €6.0m of EBITDA this year, before cashew division initial costs, against the £11.5m m/cap.

They summarise:

"November production update: Another record month sets up strong end to FY2023

Yesterday’s production update from DKL illustrates another exceptional month for the group this year, with November’s crude palm oil (“CPO”) production up over 150% YoY – a record performance – putting the group well on track to exceed our production estimates for the full year. Strong CPO production in the month was a result of both above-average availability of fresh fruit bunches (“FFBs”) from local producers and excellent extraction rates achieved at DKL’s mill (21.7%), resulting in production of 3,875 tonnes for the month, a 152.4% increase on FY2022. While we note that CPO pricing has decreased from the near-record levels seen last year, down from €1,042 to €778 / tonne, prices remain supportive of healthy gross margins at these levels and only marginally below our long-term target of

€850/tonne.

Looking ahead, we anticipate positive developments for the group as it continues to ramp up production at its cashew project going into FY2024E and await further

updates in Q1 2024. With a strong performance from the palm oil project expected this year (anticipated ca. €6.0m of EBITDA at a divisional level in FY2023) and the cashew project expected to swing to a positive cash contribution next year, we view DKL as well placed ahead of its full year update in January and retain our current fair value target of 9.5p."

UK-based rugged mobile computing providers, TouchStar Technologies, is pleased to announce that P&B Foods, a leading food distribution company, will be rolling out additional rugged mobile computers within their state of the art, Bradford based operation.

The Project

With rugged mobile computers already in place to scan, track and manage goods, P&B recognised the value of these devices in supporting efficient and streamlined supply chain processes. A recent growth in capacity and throughput meant that P&B Foods were looking to scale up their data capture operations within their picking function.

Terrific November production update.

Sales and FFBs processed are both hugely up on last year. Extraction rates are back up. Prices achieved are stable at high historic levels and margins are good.

The CPO results for the year were already going to be good - these should further enhance those numbers. Let's hope a year end cashew update continues to - finally - signal a smooth increase in production with no calamities, in which case the large potential upside here will start to feel like it's on the way :

H1 results are pretty mediocre and the outlook sees destocking, hopefully temporary, causing a downgrade for this year.

Cavendish now see 5.7p EPS this year, rising to 7.5p EPS next year. They've reduced their target price to 175p (from 200p).

Cash generated by operations increased nicely to £3.3m and net debt is stable, so there's still plenty of headroom for acquisitions, with one already added post H1 and more "under review" so perhaps coming to fruition soon.

Marked down heavily by the MMs this morning, but looking at 7.5p EPS going forward, with further earnings-enhancing acquisitions likely, at 89p SDI looks very good value imo.

How does the European fuel logistics sector differ from North America?

What this has meant, though, is that the adoption of digitization of field-based processes has come quicker in Europe. Most large fleets now have in-cab mobile computing systems. Any that don’t are the rare exception. This is not yet the case in North America.

Digitization offers immediate legislative benefits by managing the data that a business needs to prove compliance with industry regulations.

It also brings practical operational benefits, such as instantly sending a driver a digital manifest in the morning, updating it in real-time if plans change, and not having to worry about lost, incomplete or damaged proof of deposit (POD) slips, without which a company won’t get paid.

Network Rail has named AmcoGiffen as one of the contractors selected to deliver the East Kilbride Enhancement Project.

The work will provide 22.4 single-track kilometres of electrified railway as part of the Scottish Government’s wider plans to decarbonise passenger services across Scotland’s Railway.

Alongside our sister company QTS we will deliver:

Relocation of Hairmyres Station

Upgrading and accessibility work at East Kilbride station

Accessibility work at Giffnock station

Parapet modifications

Earthworks to the New dynamic loop (QTS)

Other work taking place includes electrification of the route between East Kilbride and Barrhead and a 1.4-kilometre extension of the existing loop at Hairmyres.

Mobilisation and enabling work will start at Hairmyres in January 2024. We will be relocating the station 600 metres west and constructing a fully accessible, two-platform station that will include a footbridge with lifts.

South Lanarkshire Council and Strathclyde Partnership for Transport will construct a large park-and-ride and bus interchange facility adjoining the new station. The new station will be able to accommodate up to 7-car rolling stock and will include concourse areas with passenger seating, and accessible passenger and staff welfare facilities."

Cavendish (Finncap) have retained their 1620p price target, with the recently upgraded 85p EPS and a 21p divi forecast for this year.

They summarise:

"Divisions.

Overall, the defence and security sectors remained robust for obvious geopolitical reasons. It also saw strong growth in IoT component demand as well as good demand in the medical sector, with strong demand for its design in capabilities strengthening its product pipeline. The Systems division saw growth of 136.3% to £56.7m, boosted by the Custom Power acquisition and £23.4m of revenue from the large military contract. Integration benefits are starting to accrue from combined efficiencies and operational collaboration. The Components division revenues at £31.4m, were comparable with H2 2023 in dollar terms, albeit following a very strong prior period.

- Forecasts.

Outlook comments point to the group trading in line with existing FY24 expectations, which were upgraded at its recent period end update. We therefore maintain our adj PBT and adj EPS forecasts for FY24 and FY25, with a minor cash improvement.

- Valuation.

The shares have recovered from previous weakness and have narrowed its P/E discount to its peers. We maintain our 1620p TP, based on a target FY25 P/E of 19.4x. We continue to see good momentum, with conservative guidance, but where a strong balance sheet and a capable and ambitious management keen boost growth via EPS-accretive acquisitions."

Buying at 1250p and now 1300p this morning.

Maybe some speculating that Shire will now be sold and VLE wound up with assets being distributed to shareholders. Of course could equally be betting that Shire coninues its excellent and consistent performance in recent years.

Encouraging H1 results today.

SOLI confirm that they're trading nicely in line with forecasts which were upgraded after the last update, but the figures show that actually there's still decent headroom for beating the higher expectations.

Adjusted PBT of £7.3m - up 39% - is over 58% of the £12.5m forecast for the year, and the 46.8p EPS is almost 55% of the forecast to 31st March.

So SOLI don't need much in H2 just to meet expectations, and may well do much better than that.

Plus good cash flows continue to reduce debt to almost nothing, so we could see further acquisitions from the "healthy" acquisition pipeline.

I also liked the sound of this:

"Pleasingly, post Period-end we have secured a design and build programme for a smart battery in a hand held industrial device with a new global client"

Interims will be out on Dec 7th per today's RNS, with an Investor Meet the next day.

Good to see no caveats, so we should be able to expect results at least in line with expectations as previously confirmed in the AGM update on 29th September.

The gold price is up to around $2,070, which must be good for CAPD's client base.

Some of CAPD's smaller holdings have been rising somewhat and recovering losses, but in particular PDI's 200m shares in PDI have risen to A$0.24, their highest in a while, and are now worth over £25m.
