LOL MINER how dare you post a contrary view on this particular forum. In the world of some investors on here the news is only ever be positive. Oil price falls and a bad analyst review / target price indication are only met with disdain and generally result in some sort of conspiracy theory.

I'm a holder of both the equity and the 7% bonds. The equity has been a terrible investment so far but thankfully the debt has helped me through. The reason I invested here hasn't changed so I will continue to hold but appreciate all views whether positive or negative.

Re your comment about the shale industry.
I didnt take note of any specific numbers but there was an analyst speaking on Bloomberg last Friday. She said that the view most people hold about the high cost of shale is now overblown because many shale producers had successfully reduced their costs over the last two years by around 50%. However she did also say some producers we still heavily indebted. Sorry I didnt take note of any specific numbers.

I’ve tried my hardest to pick solid companies with strong balance sheets and earning from outside the UK. I’m currently down 13% in a month and I don’t know why

Lets hope you are right and this is all down to poo and FCF.

I am just sounding off after the painful large drop in the bonds. In my experience when bonds trade this low to par it can mean trouble ahead.

Either way I'm a long term holder and will remain so. Although I can't remember my original thesis these days for being so haha

personally I think there is big trouble ahead for us. Whilst the bonds traded at, or, close ish to par, I had consoled myself that my capital loss from the shares was just a market over reaction due to the massive debt. I was even happy to keep dipping in to average down. Now I fear some pain is coming.

I hold both by the way so I'm no deramper.

Keep the faith people - A company this indebted was always likely to suffer an over correction. The recent oil price collapse has barely moved the needle on the majors.<br /><br />OPEC will react without being seen to react - Plus as far as I know ENQ have hedged sensibly.

I wish that was true railride - These shares haven't just dropped with the recent market correction. In Jan I was sitting pretty at > £2 - Since then they've tumbled nearly 40% - Way beyond correction territory

I think some posters on here should remember that long or short positions are equally acceptable forms of investing. I also think that some people on here should understand that nothing said on this board will move the share price one iota.

For context my friend works extensively in the offshore O&G sector - worldwide

he has spent 1000's of days on FPSO's etc over a twenty year period. He said none would touch AK and that the four engines he saw are each the size of a bus.

Another snippet my friend told me was the AK engineer he spoke with said they had been using 250t a week of diesel. I have no way of knowing the cost of this but I'm just glad I'm not putting it in my car

I have to say I appreciate the time and effort you put to post here. It helps us amateur investors greatly.
One thing, my friend has worked on Kraken twice in the last few weeks (doing testing and certification prior to sign off).
He told me that the 4th engine (out of 4) was almost converted and they expected to be fully oil/gas ready by the end of August latest.

I agree smokin - They are only reminding us what we already know i.e. Enq have a lot of debt and they're not producing at levels we had hoped.

People are entitled to their opinions - especially when they are reasonable and factually correct. No need to label them as trolls - I suspect 99% of people on this board are long.

I'm also long both the bond and the equity - The bond has been great over the last 12 months or so, my best ever bond investment by a mile.

Hopefully the equity will more than compensate now LOL.

I think sign off is more imminent than you think. A colleague of mine has just returned from contract work on AK. He told me there are quite a few third party inspectors there at the moment.

Of course this could just be standard procedure, or it could be final preparations for a hand over? I'm hoping it's the latter.
