Happy days at 525 Nolo - I probably haven't averaged down enough so am around 560 - Not a disaster and incl. the divs I'm nicely above water. But like most investors I'm in the greed is good camp so want income and capital appreciation 😂

Unless you're so terrified of investing yourself or indeed trusting an adviser.

In my mind it would be madness to use annuities for IHT purposes and indeed for general pension income. Putting together a "sensible" income SIPP isn't rocket science and unless you're foolish will outlive most people.

All or nearly all REIT'S are suffering painful NAV deficits. Even the better one's with almost certain cash generation. If you're buying for the long term fill ya boots and wait for the cycle to change (it always does) In the meantime enjoy the attractive income.

If however you're "trading" REIT's are probably not for you

There are quite a few pretty safe MM and short duration funds yielding 5%+

I have around half my investments in them and sleep pretty good at night.

No sign of a recession on the horizon and deflation pretty unlikely so can't see interest rates dropping that much over the next year or so - happy days

When the interest rate cycle turns and it eventually will.......

Quite possible - But that's the normal market fluctuation, not the ex div drop. It could quite easily have risen in the months after - I anticipate it might do this time
