I share your pain shatter. This stock could test the patiance of the proverbial saints, God only knows how many times I've hovered my finger over the sell button over the last 7-8 years or so.

But I think accusing the current BOD of "dithering" is wrong. Just look at what's happened over the last 12 months or so, hardly dithering? Albeit the lack of news is frustrating.

I've decided to stay the course although I swore to myself I would sell once I got my head back above water (c.420 after averaging down from 520) - But I can't help thinking that we are on the cusp of something at long last. I could be wrong of course haha

I'm tempted now I'm above water, always said i'd move on north of 420......

But I'm itching to see how this plays out....

Couldn't agree more Grip - I have been is RDS for more than 20 years and the death nell has apparently sounded many times since I first invested - Each and every time Shell have bounced back with trimmings. Of the course the first div cut since the war was a bummer but with the cash they are generating now I expect that to be addressed.

Also just read an article from Barrons saying Shell are massively under valued and are their top pick for 2022

There are other perhaps more longer sighted governments around than ours Denby - possibly have a few more quid than ours too. My conviction relies on this

I'm nearly always wrong with my predictions for GSK but I have a strong conviction that Sotrovimab might just be the catalyst we need - The more I read the more I believe that this treatment, as expensive as it is, will be the main weapon against Omicron going forward - Even if it's only given to the most vulnerable the number of doses could be many millions

on the beeb 4 out of 5 covid cases in intensive care are not vaccinated.

TR64 The UK are using Sotrovimab now but only on the immuno supressed as I understand it

I'm with you TR64 - Beggers my belief why it takes truly ground quaking good news to move this company. It's my biggest holding and I've been in it since the noughties. Of course divs have been nice and i've averaged down over the years to the point where I'm nicely above water now. But boy is it frustrating pretty much treading water for 20 years. I can only hope the split does the trick. The busted flush Woodford always called for it and sometimes he got it right.

I've no idea but look at the numbers - USA have already ordered 300,000 doses and the UK 100,0000.

If the article is correct it says other countries have been left behind and are now trying to secure supplies. In the meantime the USA is frantically trying to secure more doses whilst in the meantime rationing supplies to the worst effected states.

If even half the numbers in the article prove correct the numbers could be staggering - Not sure what portion goes to GSK but even a small percentage of a very big number is still a big number

It also states that Sotrovimab will now be rationed in the USA and only allocated to States that have high rates of Omicron until the Fed can secure extra supplies

Maybe our patience will finally be rewarded.......

Just seen an article in nature magazine stating that nearly all monoclonal antibody treatments are useless against Omicron except two......
