As far as I'm aware the SMRs don't even have regulatory approval yet. They're not sitting in a warehouse ready to deliver to some industrial estate and plug in.
The government has so far contributed north of £250m towards development, hardly sitting on their hands.
RR share price problem at the moment is debt, can't see that share price moving much.
Long term this company is very promising, no choice but to hold anyway

I recently invested in RR so have occasionally followed this forum with a moderate amount of interest.
I want to see RR succeed, the economy succeed and the country to succeed. The Guardian wants none of the above.

It's a good point. I invested in Vodafone in Jan and about the same time moved my mobiles and broadband to vodafone. Mobile signal is even worse than O2 and the broadband hub is rubbish. I could use the previous (ee) hub anywhere in the house and even most of the garden, Vodafone hub doesn't even work in some rooms in the house.
This is just basic stuff but all they're interested in is sending me ****e texts like half price Costas on a Friday.
Ive tried to let them know that they're getting the basics wrong but it's like talking to a brick wall.
SP seems to have so many variables that I give up trying to understand it but surely running an effective business producing tangible results has some bearing?

I don't know anything about conspiracies and I didn't offer any but I can give you some reality.
Half the planet closed down perfectly viable businesses for the best part of 12 months, sent everyone home and paid them with printed money.
We now have out of control inflation and the same people screaming the loudest for lockdowns licking their lips at possible recession.
By the way, this 'moronic pleb' worked throughout lockdown, despite the media trying their damnedest to get construction closed down. I was one of those still paying the big fat tax dollar, keeping people like you well stocked in masks and test kits.

Yeh I enjoyed watching my wife's business go to the wall whilst half the country sat on their arse at home and government thought they could defeat a virus.

They've been pushing for a recession since the end of covid. I run a business in construction and it's still bonkers, no loss of confidence that I can see. It can change pretty quickly as in 2008 but different situation with the banks this time round

We're in this situation mainly due to the ridiculous reaction to covid, the left and their media cheerleaders thrived on it, they knew it would trash the economy. Question is why didn't Johnson?
I used to drive past the airport during covid and see all the aircraft motionless and think how the hell can this work? How can these businesses survive? Who's going to pay for it?
