This is nothing like 2008, I remember construction collapsing and not recovering for a few years. Banks had no money. Just a lot of bad debt.
This seems like a niche market serving tech firms that love ****ing everyone's money up the wall, big banks are cash rich.
Economy will continue to grow this year despite the the IMFs best efforts, interest rates unlikely to rise much further if at all. RR a fundamentally strong business.

Best place for government, any government, is as far away from business as possible. Any business that can't survive without government hand outs is a failed business.

If you look at the facts British volt were ****ing money up the wall on private jets and corporate shindigs before producing a single battery.

The countries you've mentioned are no further along than we are. 5 years ago new nuclear power stations were unthinkable, particularly in Japan.

Like I say, I'd love to see it and it's great technology. But it's also great PR, diverting from the inescapable fact that most of RR profits come from burning oil as hard as they can, not exactly popular at the moment.

Surely the RR smr design is with the ONR waiting for regulatory approval? The government have already invested £250m, it's pretty much their project as much as RR. I'm sure they'd love to announce 15 smr's all over the country and I'd love to see it but how can they without regulatory approval? This is nuclear power stations we're talking about, can anyone point to anywhere else in the world they're being deployed?

If you hold for long term this company should provide a decent return, if you're trying to make a few quid short term then you really should know what you're doing.
