No it wasn't free market economics, it was the very wealthy and very powerful rigging the system. Crony capitalism, globalism, call it what you will. An unlimited supply of very cheap labour distorting the market but hey they're only working class jobs/businesses right?
To be honest this moment of clarity for me back in 2009 was only the start, the closer I looked at the EU the more it stank. The final straw for me was Obama rolling in with his motorcade telling me which way I should vote, unbelievable.

The EU was great for the posh, wealthy metros who's kids go off to Tuscany for their gap yah. Those of us in construction that had to watch from the sidelines as a continuous stream of (very) low paid lads from poor countries sent prices rock bottom were not so keen.
Add to that the disgusting, snooty, insulting attitude of the establishment, the BBC, the lefty luvvie millionaires and you can be sure I and MILLIONS of others will ensure we never return to the EU.

Tomaaa I only brought up my business because I've run a half decent company in a pretty difficult environment for the best part of 15 years and don't need some Nimrod on here barking questions at me. In hindsight it probably came across as clumsy.

I was surprised to see inflation rising again, I think it's an anomaly and we'll continue to see inflation fall.
For us construction costs have definitely stabilised in the last few months but I'm guessing that takes a while to filter through all businesses to the retailer.
Any shocks are possible but construction is a pretty good bellwether for the economy and it's very healthy at the moment.
24/7 hyper sensationalised media helps no one but the corporations that are paying them
