My recent answer in another thread will help you here. But to add, the world isn't as binary as you make out. I'm here to have sensible conversations with people who I might learn from. I find the relentless ramping rather valueless but there are actually people here who have balanced and interesting viewpoints so my time here is often worthwhile.

The oil price is at a high compared to the COVID low and historical norms. If the oil price is the primary driver of the share price, as posited by a few here, why is the share price so low?

And when will the SP be back at the level it should for an oil producer of our size?

It's laughable that people think posts on this board influence the SP. Do you understand business fundamentals? The Ratner exec was in a position of influence. You aren't, Daltry isn't, I'm not.

Don't be silly. I'm deep under water as a LTH. I don't short any of my investments, and don't actually know how to. iWeb don't offer it AFAIK. I should possibly have shorted most of my AIM "investments" although eventually I think the majority will come good. Apart from UKOG. They are screwed.

So, as a LTH I suppose I should be "rar rar rampy rampy". But you see, I'm not a day trader. I'm not here for the 5% daily profit. I'll learn more through realism-based discussion with the small number of people on this board who actually know how to appraise a company. My realistic view on the current risks doesn't make me a deramper, or shorter. It puts me in the same camp as any other sensible long term investor. I'll look at the balanced view.

Yeah, I'm actually more worried that a non-aligned BoD will give us away for a "most impressive" 50% return over current share price, or similar, than that they can't sort the bonds. Those of us who were LTH in SXX know that scenario all too well.

Topcat81, ONLY if the company survives. HUR must clear that hurdle. Once done, the finance risks that are driving the SP (and by driving I don't mean just up - perhaps depressing is a better word) will largely disappear and oil price becomes fundamental because we will hopefully have a clear plan for production.

Sign, PlantedBHA. No. This isn't that hard to grasp. What that quote says, and I totally agree, is that oil will be the primary driver of the SP once the fundamentals needed to secure HUR's future are sorted. The primary driver right now of the SP is the potential upside from successfully refinancing and a better CPR. Oil price does help because it improves the potentail upside, but it's secondary not primary. The thing driving the SP is currently the question of company survival. Get that out of the way and then it's oil price all the way baby! But not yet, not yet.

Thanks for that supporting quote, TopCat81. Nice to have some backup. As the quote says, the CPR and funding plan are the current PRIMARY drivers of the share price. Once the future of HUR is assured, then oil price is likely to become one of or the PRIMARY driver.

Rising oil price nice thing to have blah blah CBs dilution risk blah blah well drill cost blah blah refinancing blah blah. Seek and ye shall find.

A bid of £210m only on the basis of the tax losses doesn't sound plausible.

You're missing the point DavHaz, the dilution is still possible. Hopefully increasingly unlikely, but still not ruled out by RNS. So no, the up is not the only possible way at this time. Up is the current trend, a trend which may be accelerated by positive RNS or reversed by a shareholder wipeout. As a LTH I wish you were right, but the facts don't support your case.

I admit, I chuckled. Bullish is quite a strong word. I think it would be better to say that I am quietly hopeful, because there's no point being negative. I prefer realism instead. The facts shows there are grounds for hope, even if they don't support all out optimism yet.

Can we not get back to 0.055? I missed out on that golden opportunity. I would love to buy a shedload at that price. I mean, if you're gonna deramp at least set a decent target. 0.2 isn't much of a deramp. You can do better. For me, please.

I have as little clue as anyone as to what is going to happen, BUT I have more of a clue than some on how to appraise the company prospects. And I know what is needed before anyone can claim that we SHOULD be bullish: CBs dealt with and plan for the future - which doesn't include wiping us out.

This last sentence is demonstrably UNTRUE. The BoD have directly contradicted your statement in their RNS. I don't even need to tell you which line it is because it's so obvious and you should already know. The BoD specifically mentioned a scenario in which the outcome was most definately DOWN for shareholders. If you really didn't know that then that's a shocker.

I think there's a 60% chance of recovery here. My paper loss is high so it isn't really worth me selling unless I can identify a surefire winner. It would been worth it if I'd have known where Bitcoin or ARB were going a while back - but I didn't. So, after thinking on it for a few weeks, I bought a chunk at 2.5p. It was a smallish extra gamble with a chance of allowing me to get out this year at breakeven. If the CPR and forward plan is great, then I may just LTH instead.

So, back to my point - please don't insist that we should be bullish. You do not have the news needed to be so just yet. We should be realistic because HUR can still go either way until we get that fateful RNS.

We're at a good price for buying. I got in lower but if you believe in the company strategy then 2.36 is still pretty great for the long term opportunity.

DavHaz, but it's clear that you just don't understand what's going on with HUR. The only way in that anyone can logically be bullish about HUR is when the future of HUR becomes clear. That requires at least the plan to deal with the CBs, and maybe the CPR too. Until then, nobody has a scooby doo which way it's going to go.

Well I'd buy HUR for 20p so I'd say it's certainly possible.

Lose hope? Let me know when you are 95% down (UKOG, ANGUS, HUR) or delisted (FRR). Then we can talk about losing hope. :-)
