Its bizarre that the 'journalist' Oliver Gill has overlooked a MASSIVE story - i.e. the non-disclosure of the largest short position in Europe and the lack of action by the FSA.....in favour of a puff piece where he couldn't even be arse to get the headline numbers right......its not like he can even claimed to habe got £ and $ mixed up because that makes the debt look even less significant in light of the recent increase in the value of the pound.

COAL is the problem.

The first thing that needs to happen is that coal needs to be replaced by GAS, as energy efficency and renewables gather pace.

Oil is not just BURNED. Structural plastics (inc 3D printing), plastics for recycling, petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals will increasingly dominate over combusion for the need for oil.....so heavy oils both sweet and sour (with their lovely longer chain carbons) will be in favour. Light shale oil already trades at a discount.

Its NOT a separate issue at all. In fact it underlines EXACTLY the point I'm trying to make:

The is NO fundamental reason to knock PMO. All of the fundamentals suggest that the SP should be MUCH higher than it is.

Yet, the 'market' is apparently being irrational in ther terms of the SP for reasons that aren't clear......and then you start seeing puff pieces in the Sunday Times coming just before large sell offs without any actual news flow.......and then it turns out ACRM who own loads of debt have built a massive prolonged short position and not told anyone (for whatever reason, even if as benign as you say it still breeds uncertainty) .

When the majority of investors, despite being entirely happy with the company from information that IS in the public domain (including me), start thinking 'what do THEY know that I don't?'.........the Share price becomes diverced from the actual reality. This is very much to the disadvantage of true INVESTORS. The limited share price most tellingly restricts the options the company has to rearrange its debt, lower costs and boost share holder value.

Its still a MASSIVE position that wasn't disclosed, contrary to market regs.

Its NOT an AIM share.

No shares on AIM have a 20% short position that someone forgot to disclose....

On EVERY fundamental it SHOULD be going up.

However, when other interests are effectively able to 'print' whatever news (figuratively AND literally) they like to suit their own pre-determined outcome, then the confidence of those not 'in the know' falters.....

OK, safe in the knowledge that the whole world of markets and finance is bent as ****, here's what I think that going to happen looking at the charts:

A Small/Medium sized placing at 86p comin in the early new year.

1. That's why those in the know are selling at 95p
2. The positive trading update and Zama news will support the placing and demand
3. Forget Brazil, the placing will pay for a UKCS producing asset to increase production and burn through Tax credits given those are relatively safe after the General Election result.
(3a. Totally left field - the recently discovered West Newton field onshore near Hull is a potentially 100mmbls+ recoverable. Currently being worked on by RBD and UJO. A major would turbo charge that programme.)
4. Placing may aldo help ACRM unwind and get them off the hook for a bit of Quid pro quo.

All of this is of course specualtion, and would effectively be robbing PIs and pension investors blind, but would we be surprised???

So what happens with long Spread Bet positions? I presume IG have to hedge/CFD the collective positions of their clients?

If they have to buy or CFD long to accomdate, that must pressure the short postions too?

I have most of my interest in a long long with IG built up over the past year or so.....

Brent nicely above $65 and volume on the 'news' is still ****-weak.

Is that a 1.4mmbl inventory build?
