Lo643898,
I wouldn’t fuss about anybody else. Just contact the registrars as recommended, and mentioned in earlier posts?
Did you receive the letter sent from CGH via the registrars, mentioned by jimtom in his earlier post?
That’s your best approach I think, and the sooner the better.
Good luck.
So, I replied:
Hi Suzanne,
CGH, are not a listed company in the UK, they reside in the British Virgin Islands, so I’m pretty sure there will be no RNS announcements.
Apparently CGH, via the CGO, registrar have been sending out letters to KNOWN certificated CGH shareholders, informing them of the dividend.
Shareholders on the old LSE (for Sable Mining Africa) chat board, the old name of CGH are extremely concerned that they will be bypassed from this dividend. And are very dissolusioned by HL’s lack of assistance with this matter.
Several shareholders are of the opinion that HL, as holders and keeper’s of our accounts, should be vigorously chasing CGO’s registrars to ENSURE that we are not left out.
In my case, this dividend should approach £8000, a reasonable amount by any standards.
I therefore again respectfully request HL, to contact the CGO registrars to ensure our allocation of the dividend.
Yours sincerely.
After my message to HL yesterday, I received the following:
Dear Mr ****
Thank you for your messages regarding Consolidated Growth Holdings Limited, I apologise for the delay in our response.
I can confirm we have not recieved any official announcements from the company or through CREST in regards to a special dividend to be paid to shareholders. HL would always recieve official announcements from RNS in relation to any dividends or corporate actions affecting a particular share which would also be announced through CREST, in this instance we have not recieved any information. In the instance there is a special dividend announced we would write to shareholders to inform them of the distribution.
I hope this has been of assistance to you. If you have any further queries, please view our Help and Support centre or contact us on 0117 900 9000.
Kind regards
Suzanne Butler

Hi jt,
If we were talking about any other entity, I reckon your assumption would be correct, but CGH aren’t from past experience, what you could call an helpful/trustworthy company. (imho)
I sent a secure message to HL on the 21st June, and still waiting for a response, so I sent another this morning, telling them what a poor service they were giving.
At least the CGO sp is steadily rising, which will mean less shares to sell when doing a bed & isa.
Good luck everyone.
Jt, sorry,
Scrub that last post, I see it was from CGH. Must put my reading glasses on before answering ;- )
My misunderstanding then jt.
So if you don’t mind me asking, what was the source of the letter you received?
Secure message to HL @ 12:55 today:
Hi,
CGH are in the process of distributing a “dividend in specie, namely shares in CGO”.
CGH have been notifying this action through an obscure facility called “Dropbox” hardly an avenue known to the general populace.
CGH , also appear to be bypassing their own registrar, and are using Aviner, whom I believe represent CGO.
So may I respectfully suggest HL approach’s Aviner, to ensure that their clients aren’t bypassed in this distribution.
Regards.
Yeah, good suggestion MB, hadn’t thought of that angle.
I see HL are still silent, no word from them yet.
Good morning Lo643898,
I think HSBC will be your broker, and the people to contact are the registrars, who it seems have been charged with the distribution of the CGO shares.
But to make doubly sure, why not contact them both.
I’m a bit puzzled as to why CGH changed registrars, from memory Neville were their previous ones.
All of the above is just my own opinion though, I ain’t no financial advisor, just a dumb old geezer who was daft enough to invest in a Grove enterprise. : )))
Good luck everyone.
Peggy,
See nutmeg35’s post on Tuesday at 17,24, you can then contact the registrar mentioned in the link .
Good luck.
nm35,
Many thanks for sharing.
Good luck everyone.
Anything in/on “Dropbox” jt?
Well done CBB,
I am also on holiday from tomorrow, 20/05/22 until 03/06/22, fortunately I will have internet access at the hotel, I will be watching with baited breath.
I’m certainly looking forward to receiving the CGO shares, as it’ll be some kind of recompense for all long suffering shareholders.
I have 1.161 m CGH shares, hopefully get a nice 83k + CGO shares, nice if it comes to fruition.
Good luck everyone.
MB, as you know there’s an old saying “no news, is good news”, but I’m not sure it applies to CGH.
Anyway, only twelve days until EGM 2, then we will have to wait until his Lordship Groves condescends to inform us when the “dividend in specie” is going to be distributed to us long suffering shareholders.
So, fingers crossed everyone, and good luck to us all.
Neo,
Check out jimtom’s post of Sunday @14:55, the link there takes you to the information you require.
GLA
Well done jt,
Many thanks.
GLA,
Just checked back in these messages, and MB had a reply from CGH on 16th February, stating conversion figure was 0.0723, so not much difference after all.
Hi jt,
May I ask by what source do you receive these letters?
I’ve never had any correspondence from CGH whatsoever! Neither direct, or through HL.
So now they’ve changed the price of the qualifying shares to boot. Disgusting….!!!
MB,
When I last posted here, I was thinking the same thing ie “the twelve month rule change, passed in EGM1, was dribbling away” but then how can it be so, if the “dividend distribution” hasn’t been notified to shareholders?
The twelve months must commence only after the dividend has been passed and notified!!!
Just a thought, but the way Mr Groves operates, anything can happen.
GLA everyone.
No troubles at Hargreaves Lansdown.
Although I couldn’t find DGI on Vox Markets yesterday, to register for RNS’s, I may have been a bit too soon.
And of course there’s a DGI chat board on LSE, just search for it at the top of this page. ( no intention to teach how to suck eggs)
Good luck all.
