RE: SP drop, any thoughts?31 Oct 2023 09:11
I suspect two reasons. First, production and profit is well over 12 months away. Hot money has gone elsewhere. Second, the price of lithium has fallen recently, from around £40,000 per tonne in August to around £22,500 per tonne now. Even at that lower figure, CTL’s estimated production costs still make their mines highly profitable.
I believe the price of lithium will recover. My view is supported by an article in Investors Chronicle on 20 October covering this issue and looking at future supply and demand for lithium. It mentions CTL. The conclusion is that “it is worth buying into lithium juniors preferably those with exposure to US government support [which seems to include CTL – Chile has a FTA with America] and sit back. The panic over supply will set in eventually, making even average projects worth buying out”.
I would add that CTL is far from just average!
