I;d suggest that 700-720 is the stop loss level for many PIs. Many of whom are probably on the train into work and can't get through to their brokers. 600 range in a possibility.

I think a lot of PIs frustrated by the lack of rewardable trading range and good news might not look too favourably on this latest revelation. Especially, with year end on the way and the rest of the market creating better opportunities. All eyes on Woody now. Will he blink?

I think this is all going to be about how quickly they can announce a replacement and a replacement that makes sense. Not just a knee-jerk filler.

Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if we see a couple of day trips back into the late 700s within a week.

Chartist - I think this is all about stop-losses now. I would imagine after the most recent ranges and levels most would have put in a SL at around 840 ish. If this breaches that price then you could see quite a swift movement to low 800s. I think many of the short termers and mid termers who were in this for the promised rise to 1000+ have run out of patience at the lack of news and perhaps some negative leaks. The overall index and political malaise is also a weight on this stock. It's on my watch list.

Not going back into this without further clarification around all the stuff they seemed to forget to put in the last update. Drops back a bit more I might be tempted but there seems to be day on day reduction in volumes which indicates the volatility could be fading. xx RdR

It also means under rules there is unlikely to be any news for 14 days.

Charts - The difference between this week and all the proceeding weeks is that there is nothing ahead or no news due now. The traders played this all the way up to the 13th October knowing people would be moving chairs about now there is no natural point to look forward to in the short to mid-term. The fact that this stock didn't keep rising this week is an indicator that the market has moved on and a lack of news may see this drift now for a few weeks.

Jet - If this was going to go over 1000 then it would have done it last week. This will need a steady flow of good news to move the SP upward and personally, I not sure where that news in going to come from. As I've said, I wouldn't consider buying this week, maybe not next until all the news is flushed out. The last updated created more questions than it provided answers, which I find concerning. Just the final point on analysts. JPMC are PFG's in-house broker, you would would've thought they'd have a pretty strong handle on what is going on moreover other analysts. Each to their own. If you are in this for a year just to see it hit 4 figures then you must have a really low average, good luck to you.

jetcrowts - Woodford has a totally different agenda to you. This is a repetitional play for him, so he has to be able to show face at PFG (He's only down 280m). If he does begin to reduce you may not have the time to get out as this will be one of the biggest sell flags this stock has ever experienced. So the trick would be to get out beforehand. JPMC has given this a target price of 770 and they haven't been too far off to date. I'd suggest you wait for the dust to settle and decide you like (or understand) the direction this is going in. 750-800 would be a good buy price for this stock in a week or two. I'd allow for more news to come out first.
