Ifonly - I've kind of stopped taking notice of big buys and sells as they can indicate a myriad of things. Big buys could just be a large fund averaging down and not necessarily a retail buy sign or a short close. A few weeks ago now, someone bought �7.5m at 475, then the price tanked to 420.

Ecuador? They have a number of things on the go but it will be interesting now that Asfari is back on the away team. They must be well aware of the growing unease around the lack of solid contract news.

PFC seems to be geared more against the FTSE250 than PoO at the moment and unfortunately the FTSE250 is having a sub-par week. A few of my other holdings have had a frustrating downbeat week too.

Just watch the indexes turn green the minute the European markets close. Idiot May has us wedged between 2 superpowers now, which is not going to bode well for UK business.

Sf - I think the market may have read the return of the COO and Asfari's reinstatement on the bidding team as either a green clear flag or may a sign of desperation that bidding and contracts was not going very well. I think we are seeing classic market apprehension at the moment. Too many people got stung on the February push down and are cautious of running back in guns blazing. They need to drop a huge contract RNS. Hopefully this week.

shads - Correct. Those drops are the ones to wash for. Today's seems like natural cooling after some pretty good days.

Stockdale - Yesterday's relatively tepid day might have re-connected the stock. The soft market in the US last night wouldn't have helped either. It was going to happen sooner or later.

Bumbles - Keep in mind we have the OPEC report this morning and the market is suddenly not quite as bullish about oil as it was earlier in the year.

I think the post FY honeymoon is coming to a close. This is why we need positive news flow otherwise people will lose confidence, hence the lack of top-ups etc Oil is hardly getting kicked at the mo, and the European indexes are mostly up.

Goldman's stated they expected a lot of volatility over the next few month like that seen at the start of February which set us back. Based on normal growth, I'd agree this should increase nicely, problem is, its performance during said correction has put a lot of people on edge (not helped by a very poorly timed RNS) , therefore , other than the Divi you might find people are holding back more than they were when we had the surge in January that put us to 585.

WH - They are perceptively intertwined I suppose. My feeling is that the market was assured by the 2017 numbers and the news of returning management but now after that honeymoon period, it's back to business as usual. If you look at it pragmatically, PFC has only won around $1.3-5bn worth of contracts and renewals in the last 6 months. We need some glitz to keep the party rolling.

Mark - I'm not sure $135m order in 4 months with only the $1bn at Christmas will do enough to shoo the shorters away in the short term. They need to drop some big orders to get this to 600-650.

SD - Agreed, they seem to get them out in blocks. Historically, March is a good month for contracts releases. Hopefully equador will come in. At the end of the day they need movement on the SFO to remove the stone from their backs. I don't mind either way. Even charges will provide a clear path and a chance to negotiate a DPA. It's the uncertainty that the market doesn't like.

Mark - I noticed that too this morning. This could be about the fact that $135m contract in around 4 months hardly gets the pulse raising, after the contract drought in Q4 last year. They really need to pull their finger out on the the multi-billion contracts or asset sales to get things underpinned.

Good news but not ground shaking.

I agree, they have certainly found solid ground again after a few shakes months but there is a reason why we have a few more shorters on the roster and AQR haven't reduced in a while. This isn't a deramp (hell you know me) but in the last 6 months we've have 2 contract RNSs totalling around $1bn. I wonder if shorters are hanging around because they still think there is mileage in their hypothesis that the SFO thing is damaging PFC's ability in getting contracts. I do hope we get something soon. I have a pretty solid 420 average now so the last couple of weeks have been awesome but I'm holding my breath as to if this rollercoaster is finally coming to an end.
