That might have accounted for the sudden 5p drop at 10.30ish this morning. There is always a reason.

I think these two stories on Bloomberg (whom I don't normally like), seem to indicate that 'talks' could possibly be announced sooner rather than later. These tariffs aren't really helping anyone, no point putting $10 in a workers pocket today only for them to loose $100 in their pension tomorrow.

Last night's news that Harley Davidson are shifting some of their production out of the US due to the Tariffs might reduce the Trump's appetite for a 'Tariff-a-day' which has sent the markets tumbling in recent weeks.

The point of the US tariffs was a supposed to be a shot in the arm for the US blue collar worker but it seems Trump may have underestimated the 'home' impact of how some all-American brands have globalised.

Hopefully this will create a well needed respite in the global markets and perhaps a less gung-ho and more measured approach from the white house.
