JSD15: Not sure how but I always seem to get interest paid back to me ! it's pence ie under a tenner, I just pay what I owe before it's due and next tax year they seem to pay me some interest !

I dislike moaners who don't pay on time then moan, or I deal with a lot of business who moan about their VAT bill.

IF my VAT bill is high I am bloody happy because it means my business has done bloody well that 1/4, I then put 28% away every month of my business profit for TAX, I never owe that much so every year I pay myself a bonus from my over payments.

VAT was never mine so I hold it for the TAX man, earn money in interest on it and pay them the VAT I collected for them every 3 months.

I don't moan about it all, that's just life and TAX's.

If I had a business and my VAT bill was 0 i would be more worried !

tax is tricky subject we really don't pay that much vs germany. !

and you can plan to pay less in this game like you and me have done.

yes workers get upset to see the money going to migrants, and this £40k is a kick in the teeth for sure. but we have no control where it's spent and we pay less than other countries.

if you are on paye and on £120k then it's a **** show for them tax wise. but an easy target sadly. but still better off then people in germany.

on total tax burden (income + property + car):

uk still comes out ahead overall for someone earning £65k and owning a home and car.

the higher german income tax burden outweighs the savings from lower property taxes.

labour always have supported wellfare and public sector. so it's a given this is where it's going.

£30 might be doable if SMR orders roll in which at seem slow !!! but if you want to retire at 50 ans waiting for RR to be £30

A: it might never get there and B : that's 20 years away which then is not a good investment over 20 years ! I can double my money faster in other area than RR with in 20 years !

2028 and £20 is a more real target and what the CEO was brought in to do and offers a nice return at 15% PA.

RR might cap out at £18 to £20 a £160 billion company. Any more needs a direction change or a new business model, that's not what this CEO is here for.

i actually blame the conservative 14 years in power last time, they failed to address the structural causes in the uk had in 3 terms.

14 years and i voted for them ,now i realise they did **** all. and really ran down the uk and nhs and did nothing to stop the boats either they just looked after the very rich. i did ok with it hence you vote for who gives you money in your pocket, but on reflection they did a **** job.

uk needs to pay more tax but we need to get it right/fare, uk also need to pay less well fare !and be less woke.

These days I always sell some shares before results day, I edge my bets and sell 20% of a holding. I did not do that with RR though, it's a long term hold for £20 in 2028.

I do my own "accounts" I find accountants misleading and not helpful at all and in the main poor they just ask me how do I make my money !

I did not panic as I hold 2 years full wages TAX free cash earning 4.5% and worst case 5 years assets to cover not drawing money from markets for 5 years. Remember I retire in 26 days.

Have a plan to never pay TAX when you retire and hold 3 years cash/assets minimum.

I upped my Div stocks while they looked cheaper to lock in 8.7% last April crash i locked in a 9.3% div.
