Just to be clear, they had been tasked to provide the UK government with the manufacturing capacity to make LFTs and the test to be made by Omega would be determined by the DHSC dependent on which tests were approved for manufacture – Omega’s manufacturing agreement was not based on them having their own test approved, they’re standing by to make whichever test is approved for DHSC procurement and deployment.

At present, all FoI requests to government are going through a central clearing system (this was admitted by HMG at a hearing in one of the GLP cases). This means that responses to FoI requests are often drafted by people based on information they have been provided by another department, but without any real knowledge of the detail.

I'm not surprised that the FoI response doesn't reflect the actual position.

The Contract does not require ODX to have an approved test. The Government will identify the test(s) and ODX will manufacture it/them.

A bit better thanks but still rough. The worst thing is the constant head ache and jaw ache.

My other half is repeatedly testing negative but he's not allowed to see patient until my isolation is over, so he's working from home. At least it means that I have someone around to fetch and carry for me!

Just filter BigZero…. it makes the board far more tolerable.

PCR has been seen as the gold standard but it’s limitations are coming to light. I have friends who have repeatedly tested +ve on LFT but -ve on PCR. A few days later the PCR is repeated and shows positive. One person (a teacher) tested +ve for 8 days using LFTs but it wasn’t until the third go that the PCR came back +ve.

This isn’t about LFTs (or which brand). This is about the limitations on the utility of PCR and it’s rate of false negatives.

Just had the PCR result... it's positive. So that's me in isolation for the next 10 days.

Fortunately, my other half's came back negative so - as long as he does daily LFTs - he can go back to work and, more importantly, walk the dog.

How about we let the board get on with running the business rather than trying to assuage some PIs with no real understanding of what long term investing is really about?

Difficult to say... as DHSC hasn't included the Contract Number in the publication (which they should do). DHSC wouldn't be paying CE accreditation costs or for tests submitted for PHE validation (those costs would be borne by the manufacturer/test developer).

At a guess, the payments may relate to tests being provided for LMI countries as part of HMG's obligations under the Global Fund agreement (given GAD's focus).
