The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode with London Stock Exchange Group's Chris Mayo has just been released. Listen here.
The figures are those published by the ONS. They’re as accurate as you can get.
Key difference between 2020 and 2021 is the opening up of schools with inadequate mitigations and an over-reliance on second rate imported tests.
So far in 2021, 98 children have died from Covid. In the same period in 2020 it was 10.
The UK's children are being failed by the government insisting on using sub-standard imported Chinese LFTs.
"Weren’t you one of the rampers that were banging on about the £350 million contract without understanding the contract terms?"
No.
"Just as FYI - I work with the medical sector and CE approval is delayed for many. "
Really? As a cleaner perchance?
I shall have to take a look....
"Is it too much to expect an update from ODX ? I would have thought it to be in their interest to provide a trading update on the day this list is published."
Why do you think that? RNS are only there for things that will potentially impact the market - not to provide reassurance to nervous or frustrated PIs.
A number of those providers appear to be using Immensa Health Clinics/Dante Labs.
Given that both of these are under investigation for not processing tests properly, it is somewhat surprising to see them being used / endorsed by DHSC.
Says it all really about how DHSC is handling this...
"Haven't heard of any repeat cases, that would be a real worry."
A friend of mine, who is double vaccinated, is on her third bout...
My mandatory isolation ended on Saturday...
...and my other half tested positive via LFT (Flowflex). I took him for a confirmatory PCR, which came back positive yesterday.
So, having had to isolate and not see patients for the 10 days of my isolation period, he's now got to isolate in his own right. That means three weeks of not seeing patients.
Covid hasn't gone away, no matter what Johnson might wish.
That Which? article is factually incorrect as well.
"@RegulatorUK..thks for that.Think it's important to note that if/when ODX is not named on the providers list,it's not a big deal,as no doubt the trolls in here will jump all over it when the time comes."
Absolutely! TWatcher/Harvey/Whichever Sock Puppet Account will try and spin it...
"Assume you're in full recovery mode at this stage from your infection..bit like ODX..?"
Feeling a lot better, thanks. Waiting for the isolation period to expire tomorrow. I intend to take the dog for a long walk on Sunday.
The list is of those providing the tests (i.e. the distributors) to the public - not the manufacturers (unless they happen to be doing both).
BigZero's "sources" being the same media everyone else can see ...
"OK thanks Gary you can pick up a few shares with your pocket money once orders are confirmed, well done lad"
His mam's told him he'll only get his pocket money if he takes out the bins, tidies his room and put *that* sock into the wash...
"Note that existing LFT's are not allowed to be used for international travel, so no Chinese tests !!!!"
Err... no. NHS T&T tests cannot be used for international travel. Existing LFTs can be used if supplied by someone other than NHS T&T.
Not really. I think whoever wrote that tweet doesn't understand how academic publishing works and the timelines involved.
"I would assume that we are all intelligent enough, to do our own research regarding a share, to choose where we invest and spend our hard earned money."
Not if you're MrIndia...
Not sure. I think possibly deliberately skating around the edges...
"I can 100% confirm these are CE Marked for Self-testing"
That line indicates they have no clue. CE marking applies only to professional use. There is no 'CE Mark(ing) for Self-testing'* under the MDR/MDD. It required further approval from a competent authority.
*Except for a small number of devices listed in the relevant schedule of the MDD/MDR.
"They sent me an email assuring me they are the only test to have full home use approval from MHRA. They don't as all they can supply s a certificate from Germany and a listing on the FDA website."
The Acon Flowflex test passed the Porton Down Phase3A assessment in February.
Sounds to me like this web-site is some dodgy reseller that it being potentially misleading. You might want to flag the site to devices.compliance@mhra.gov.uk (they're a very helpful bunch).
