With respect to speculation it's what we do constantly as we cannot read minds. In fact isn't the process of shareholding pure speculation.

Why only part-time positions? I'm assuming there are other restrictions built in apart from maximum hours?

Why would DK want to get involved with an offer for the entire RMG group. Forecasting lower profits going forward, an increased wage bill, plus the constant aggravation of negotiating with the CWU.
Far better an offer for the GLS element with a smaller, lower paid workforce.
He didn't become wealthy making poor decisions.

Snakee, Good that after perusing you decided RMG would be interesting enough to invest.

My point exactly "furore" was how I described the reaction from the UK to such an event.

1. The pay discussions are with the CWU who represent a group of workers who are not employed by GLS.
2. The shareholders own a % of the entire RMG. Therefore their fortunes are linked for good or bad.
3. I am not privy to the contract drawn at takeover. However my gut tells me it is neither in the interest of either party or would it make commercial sense to have one workforce benefit from the efforts of another.

GLS is the jewel in the Crown. Imagine the furore should its profits be scavenged for posties wages and then not be as profitable in future. Investors would and have previously accepted a loss of dividend. CWU, would not willingly accept a cut in wages.

Obviously there are varying levels of shareholder ability to read reports and the level of honesty in press reporting. Having headed up a number of Companies I agree with the decision to keep them seperate.

Quite the contrary. More clear cut as two seperate divisions. Plus if GLS were to be sold off it would be a far simpler procedure.

IMO, future wage agreement should not be part funded by another group members profit which part of which should be used for GLS expansion.
