From my perspective.there is value and entertainment in all the posts. I love reading them, the comments, the angles, the education and so on and all in their individually differing styles. - I love the irony of posting criticism of those who criticise. - The BB's are where it all hangs out. A modern-day phenomena, ever evolving, providing pleasure, entertainment, education and valuable information.

You are saying avoid expansion/growth it's too risky. - You are referring to the Gold mining industry aren't you! - Wow that's a goodun. - When gold hit 1900 there was a mad scramble by some miners to acquire gold-assets in the ground as quickly as they could and at any cost. - They did this because of a perception that the price of gold was heading for the stratosphere. - Unfortunately they never considered the intervention by the US in manipulating the price, an intervention which you believe doesn't exist, the consequences of which have proved disastrous. - There wouldn't even be an industry if there wasn't a vision for expansion/growth. - I must say it's an odd philosophy to hold for someone who actually invests in a gold-miner. - Unless of course you are not an investor and just move in and out in relation to the timings linked to the dividend payments.

I do believe that current management have exposed themselves to such criticism. - Where is the proof/evidence that they have ambitious plans for the use of funds going forward. - Other than CdI and BF where progress is painfully slow or non-existent, unless I've missed something, I'm not aware of any - And yet we sit atop a mountain of cash with nowhere for it to go other than through dividend disbursements. - I don't regard that as having any place in forward thinking management. - I am aware that under the current arrangements they don't have to have such ambition in order to enjoy continuing riches being thrown into their laps for the next 20years or so.
