Hi shareminator - There appears to be a game in play, the rules of which are unfamiliar.. - A new game, newly invented, never before played in the history of finance./economics. - Part of it is a game of threats/blackmail mainly by the US with it's poodles/acolytes following closely at their heel - Do as we say or your dead. - Rational explanations are sough/offered in explanation, but they are based upon the old tenets of the science of markets, laisse-faire, . market-forces, price discovery etc., the problem is they no longer apply. - What is the solution? - I don't know. - Even confidence is manipulated in this new game, so we might have to wait a long time for it to wane. - Even the 'Gurus' are giving-up on forecasting a time frame. Every forecast they have made over the last decade has failed. They have become lost in their understanding of what's going on. - They are still prepared to have a stab at forecasting but only on the basis of this year , next year, sometime, who knows. - Don't hold your breath.

Hi snige - Unless something is wrong you say. - Yes, I think that scenario is worthy of consideration. - The sector in general is under the cosh of course, but the extreme action taking place against Centamin appears somewhat extreme, especially given it's strengths as a company. - I have a bit of a suspicion, no more than this, that they are being measured-up for a takeover and are being assisted by insiders in pursuit of this. - Conspiracy theory I know, paranoid or what, but it's the only rational explanation I can come up with where what is happening then begins to add-up.

There's one thing that will give the sp a boost and that is a good Q3 result. - It will help restore confidence not only in the production outlook going forward but also in the management. - Credibility took a big knock after the shenanigans of the Q2 report and the about-face within 3 weeks. - We have new assurances from them re H2 production and production guidance. - If they can deliver on this I'm confident of a boost. - If they don't, we're in trouble. - Time will tell. - Only a few weeks to go before Q3 prelims. - This will be a key event. - IMO

Hello. - I'm flattered that you think my humble opinion is worth listening to. :-) Yes, I have been around for years, like many on here. - Peter Schiff is a top commentator in the Gold space, a professional so to speak, and his comments carry some weight I would say. - I've noticed though that many of the commentators, and there are many in the 'Peter Schiff' category, are not only repeating the same message, the same mantra, if you will, as they have been since 2008, but they are now adding caveats. - I've noticed a liberal use of words /phrases such as 'Eventually' 'In time' etc. - In other words, still strong emotive messages about the impending crash, but now much more guarded on actual timings, far more vague now. - It's definitely gonna happen, Eventually, Some time, never. - I rather think that over the years, the 'Gurus' with their expert predictions, have been the cause of many lost-fortunes.

He is saying there are some big moves being made by private equity to move into the mining space and in some instances have taken over entire operations. - It's possible there has been a move with regards to Centamin. - The gold in the ground must look very attractive here. - If a deal has been done with the present masters and I emphasise if, and there's plenty in it for them, they could well be co-operating. - Under such circumstances a reduced SP would be very welcome. - Just a wild-arse theory mind you.

If private equity is seeking to acquire mining stock it'll be the gold in the ground they're after. - With this in mind, It's not unreasonable to think that Centamin could be a target. - Following through on this thought, if CEY is being measured-up for new owners and there's co-operation by the existing to assist, it could account for the price being driven-down in pursuit of said outcome. - Just a thought, not whingeing. - Alternatively, I could just post that I've been here for a few years, I trust management etc. etc., restrict my thinking and ignore everything else.

It's funny how the fall in SP coincides with the arranged 'Site visit'. It's the only bit of news that sets it aside from it's peers. - Oft times site visits are arranged when finance is being raised. Since this doesn't apply to Centamin, I'm wondering what the purpose of the site visit is. - Concerning ETF's. If ETF's are shedding shares in CEY in numbers then a RNS will materialise. - Let's see what happens. in the next day or two. - Two successive 4% down-days doesn't happen on a whim.

You expect the SP to be in sync with the normal ebb and flow of the sector in general. - However, on no news, this has to be something else. - The dreaded hidden-hand at play as so often has been the case with Centamin.

Currently, compared to peers, the SP is getting crucified. - Why? - Does somebody know something we don't?

Yes, let's hope so but I have serious doubts. - Most analysis uses 'market norms,' norms based upon how it used to be. The use of history, data, charts, fundamentals, whatever, calculated using the old well tested norms of yesteryear. But, this is today, there are no norms in-play any more, just America and the parasitic sycophants hanging on to her coat-tails, taking the world down with them in a last desperate attempt to stay alive themselves. - What is the answer? - That's an easy one. - I don't know, and neither it seems does anyone else.

The two markets, paper/physical have become so detached that I do believe they are just ignoring each other. Whilst Comex determines the price, if my understanding is correct, you can't actually purchase for delivery at the manipulated price. - They're not even subtle about it anymore. - You want delivery sir - f**k off and find it somewhere else. - You won't get it from Comex members. - An absurd situation underpinned by the support of the regulators. - It's a situation without end. - There's going to be no day of reckoning I'm afraid. - Carte-blanche in perpetuity.

In my opinion, what is happening with gold transcends the cut'n'thrust of markets but rather is a political initiative against the 'Asia axis'. - In their grand scheme of things, China, Russia, Iran, India et al, gold forms a foundation upon which the 'One belt - One road' strategy is to be rolled-out. - Part of that strategy being to circumvent the dollar in their trading initiatives with the rest of the world. - By attempting to scupper gold they are attempting to thwart the grand-plan. - It's gonna be an interesting fight. - Unfortunately for us, we're caught in the crossfire.
