Hi Tibbs - Based upon our experience thus far, I'd be surprised if there's frictionless acceptance and implementation. - It's likely there will be challenges both before, and if they are adopted, afterwards. - If I was entering into contract I would be seeking a non-challenge/ security/compensation clause be inserted.

Looking at it from a balance-scale perspective, their has been some excellent dividend payments, no doubt about it. - On the other side of the scales the devastating loss of value has more than wiped-out all the dividend benefit ever paid and some. - For long-term holders this has been a disaster. - The dividend-hoppers, the ones who buy-in for the divi-payment and sell upon receipt, have probably benefitted the most here and have proved to be the most shrewd.

Hi Tibbs - Concerned about three further break-downs. - Is this a leak preparing us for further bad news that can be justified due to said break-downs? - It's either truth or invention. - If we've been told lies the board has no other course but to invent reasons in order to cover them up. - It's possible we are entering the unluckiest mine phase where suddenly things begin to happen that are beyond the control of management but play nicely into covering lies.
The tactic is so obvious that I don't think they would attempt it, although I have experienced the same syndrome in other investments in the past. We need a default where gold can't be delivered as per contract. - If AM s right about Central Bank purchases and tight delivery then spot price is wrong. If he's putting-out deceitful, misleading information, even though he's trading everyday at the physical-delivery gold-face, then the gold-price is correct. - Meaning the PPT is a myth and comex is as straight as a die.

Hi workover - The share runs with the hand-brake on at best. - The court-case applied it and until it's released it will unfortunately remain this way. - It's extremely frustrating, especially if you are or have been a long-term holder. - Centamin is a very successful company. You will all ready know the company is debt-free, unhedged, carries a healthy bank-balance and pays one of the best dividends in it's sector. Yet, the SP walks around as though it were a pauper. - It is strange isn't it? - Enigmatic.

Most nations of the world have their gold-holdings stored in either American (New York) or British (London) vaults. It's odd, to me at any rate, that neither country, US/UK, appears to have a policy with regards to gold for their own account. - I'm wondering if that is because being in possession of so much of other country's gold already, if it becomes necessary, all they have to do is commandeer said gold and pay compensation in their own fiat currency. I know the American President has special executive powers to order such seizure and of course in their case they don't even have to have the compensating dollars on hand, they just print them as and when required. I suspect it's something similar in the UK. - It's a wonderful world. :-) - Just a thought.

We could be on course towards a triple-bottom forming either side of October if things carry on as they are. - Some news on shipments/profits would be useful just now.

Hi cowichan - The situation you refer to has a familiar ring. - Non accountability seems to be the accepted norm. - In Centamin's case, losing 1/2billion pounds of value and reaching almost 3/4billion at one point was regarded by some as just another day at the office. - Move along please, nothing to see here. - Some even had praise for management. - The tremors caused by our lax management oversight which also includes their apathy towards the resolution of the court-case are still being felt and yet nobody has been called to account..- It adds a frightening dimension to the competence of those in whom we have placed our trust. - Very little trust remains now in a company with some of the greatest fundamentals around but nevertheless seem incapable of making progress.

I am talking 10yr.Treasury/Bond rates. - When the rate increases it's because the underlying value of the T Bond is collapsing. - There is an inverse relationship between rising rates and value. - EG. Using $100 bond issued at 2.5%. - In the secondary market say said bond can only command $50. Since it still carries a $100/ 2.5% coupon (% rate) buying it at $50 means the bond is now paying the new owner the equivalent of 5%. Thus collapsing T. Bond values = a rise in the interest rate. - A flight from fixed income instruments can be good for gold where investors seek a hedge in it's safety. - The problem for Governments with a rising 10yr. interest rate is that new Gov. issuance has to compete with the current state of the market, making Gov. borrowings more expensive, thus adding to the difficulty of servicing the debt. - Just a talking point for a Sunday morning. - Apologies for the crudity of the example.

The only thing wrong with the Sukari drill results is that they apply to the area beyond the 3km licence, or am I wrong on that? - If I'm right, this is covered by the permit that the 'Court' has cancelled/suspended. - So when you talk about 50yrs of life, are you referring to the mine or the court case? - :-)
