The moral of the story is don't invest in the UK. The insurance companies and pension funds only invest 4% of their money here so we should do the same.

Well, so far, this is the star performer in my very battered watch list. Hopefully, a decent increase before the ex dividend date.

And to add to all of that, more ESG and sustainability. Another fad we have to ride out.

I doubt anyone thinks you are crazy because there are quite a few investment houses (such as Orbis) that specialise in buying quality shares that are in the doldrums. Even Buffett uses this strategy. How long it takes is another issue. But, if you feel you are young enough to see a recovery and don't need the money in the near future, I have no doubt you will do well. At the moment, it looks like they are plenty of quality companies out there that look like they are struggling, Prudential and Diego being others.

Probably, but with all of these pay increases Labour are throwing around, I'll bet at the next budget that all of us shareholders are right in their line of sight.

According to DGE, Oban 18 was only ever made for the US market and manufacturing was discontinued in 2018. Probably increases its value though.

If you ignore the share price hype over the pandemic, DGE is back following the previous trend line and could be considered reasonably fair value but that is for the individual to decide. As with most shares, I suppose sometimes it will go above the trend line and sometimes below. At the best, with all of the money they are pulling in from these sales, I would hope for a special dividend but that would be optimistic.

Labour have been in power for almost two weeks now. They should have sorted all of this.

So much for the revival in the so-called undervalued UK shares.

I am reading every excuse under the sun from weight loss drugs curbing people's appetite for alcohol to a reformed youth who have seen the light when it comes to booze. If you go out in Leeds on a weekend, that hardly seems the case. Otherwise, for many of the rest of us, cash is tight at the moment and they need to act accordingly.

Same with Burberry. They are scratching their heads wondering why no one is buying their £720 T-shirts. Maybe the man in the pub knows better?

Could be an interesting opening on Monday morning or maybe not?

For the consumer, it is all down to the BoE dropping interest rates now. I doubt there will be a great deal of movement until that happens.

Only yesterday, the Bank of England issued a warning that some shares, particularly in the AI fields, are ripe for a correction. You may ask what do they know. But, if it does happen, many may be glad to own consumer cyclicals such as HFD.

I think you can never tell with the stock market and many predictions have been wrong but people are entitled to their opinion. If you look back at HFD over the past 20 years, there have been quite a few erratic swings. The way I see it is that what once was could easily happen again:
