It may be that this company is trading at fair value. The recent peak was over the pandemic when many shares were hyped up although I appreciate South America is dragging on the price.

There was a buy order valued at £481.90k executed on Friday at 16:35. Not a fortune for these fund managers but significant none the less. They must have hopes of it rising further when they could have bought for less earlier in the day.

Well the profit after tax is down 81% on the previous half year so it is all down to the next half year now.

17.5 pence per share expected. Otherwise, every silver lining has a cloud.

Well, I suppose like many on here, I now find myself in the position where my dividends have exceeded my capital losses. I like to keep the faith but it is not easy.

Well JamesO, I hope you are right. If Halfords has bottomed and we get a couple of interest rate cuts, we should be okay. Statistically, September is the worst month for the stock market so I don't see the share price rising at the end of August. My guess is that we will have to wait until November assuming we get a decent set of quarterly results in the meantime. At least we have the divi to look forward to. Premium beers all round.

No multi-currency account anyway. You have to pay sizable conversion fees every time you buy and sell foreign shares. This no doubt contributes to a large percentage of their profits. This will have to end eventually.

Retail sales may be up but cycling is in decline. 2023 was the worst year for bike sales since 1985. Let's hope other areas of the business can pick up the slack.

Like I keep saying, take the summer off and come back and see where we stand in November. A few interest rates will work wonders. This is not the only company in the doldrums at the moment. Then, when you get your money back, forget shares and put your money into a S&P 500 ETF.

Well, I was hoping for more the day before the ex-dividend date but, considering the carnage out there, I suppose it is holding up well. Probably a good buy tomorrow, assuming it drops.

The best thing to do is to walk away from this one for a while and come back and see where it stands in November and if we really have turned a corner. People keep buying thinking it has bottomed and it has clearly not. Even the most basic manual on share trading will tell you that you have to be prepared for a long term strategy. It is not always a get rich quick scheme. This is also a good time to reinvest dividends.
