To be fair, he made his calculations at full capacity and then stated "... Unlikely they'll run at full capacity".
The point he was trying to make was not about how many hrs it runs for or shifts per day. It was about how fast the numbers can add up, as a new machine comes online.
Think about one aspect. People do Covid test everyday - not so? Therefore one can assume the machines will run at least for 1 shift everyday. So base some numbers of 1 shift per day and see.
Yes, don't just take everyone's word and run to hills to proclaim. What I'm saying here is test the numbers yourself.
