Usain, I thought that we knew they were doing it, but didn't have confirmation they were using NCYT tests. Have I got that bit wrong?

Why haven't NCYT disclosed the name of their new US distributor? Also, why refer to them in the RNS as a 'new global strategic partner'? If I'd signed a distribution agreement for a major market, I'd think I'd want the world and his dog to know where to go asap in order to drive sales in that market. Therefore, they couldn't say. So, NDA in place. Why?

Global and strategic - gotta be a far deeper relationship than a mere distributor to warrant that. Plus secrecy.

To be fair, not referencing anything in particular, so not ruling anything out either. The thing that Bramley picked up on was that he'd just posted something regarding a T/O what started 'join the dots'. Pure speculation that he'd seen it, but that's what the link was. Probably pure coincidence.

Can't remember which thread it was on, but have asked Bramley if he can remember, he made interesting comment on it.

So, we know that the big boys have acquisition plans, we know they have the money and we know that NCYT could be a prime target. They are the proven player in their own field and have a proven record of innovation, now with the funds to diversify.
Mmmm, now tell me why a T/O isn't a realistic option.....

Topprize, that certainly shows the sort of money these boys have set aside for acquisitions. Now, if you were one of those companies, think whether NCYT would be on your radar. Of course it would be, without doubt. It remains a distinct possibility.

Hi Allah, I'll have a look at them. I'm certainly not emotionally attached to any share and not to a buy out. Might seem cold, but I'm here to invest and gain a return. Anyone in the same boat as me would be keen for a T/O, it makes absolute sense. However, these things rarely happen, so happy to see NCYT succeed as a stand alone (which I think they could). Good luck....

One last thought. I'm not suggesting that this process would have started yesterday, or today. The big boys have acquisitions departments to hunt down buys. NCYT could have been on their radar for months, but yesterday's RNS saw them deliver well before their competitors. Might not have been exactly the RNS you wanted, but it could have been the one they were waiting for. Exciting times, whether it happens or not.

Allah, with respect, if you don't know of any suitable candidates to buy and have not researched it, how can you possibly say that a purchase is 'at least as much likely as a takeover, if not more' that a T/O of NCYT? Can't think if any business that NCYT would be desperate to buy, but NCYT could be a prime target for many.

T/O is now a very interesting possibility, probably within weeks if it were to happen. That would be a nice RNS to wake up to!
As I say, it's a possibility (although a strong one), rather than probability. Nothing to stop it happening though....

All companies reference potential options for expansion, given profitability, none list themselves as a target. Unless you have emotional ties to NCYT, a T/O would be more advantageous than buying out a smaller competitor. Who are you suggesting that would offer a material and financial boost to NCYT. This might be your preferred option, for whatever reason, but it's not the most likely. I can't see any companies in a related sector that NCYT would want to buy. However, NCYT will be of great interest to others.

Trick with this one is to stop focusing on daily SP and look at the bigger picture. Convinced that NCYT will come good for us all, either as a successful stand alone, or as a T/O payout. Enjoy the game and be patient, it'll come good in one of these two ways.

Camelot, there is nothing in recent legislation to prevent a foreign, and certainly not a domestic, takeover. Although the legislation was aimed primarily at PPE suppliers, all it states is that there is to be added rigour in ensuring that domestic supply would be guaranteed. There is not shortlist of companies that have been ringfenced. It could easily happen as long as the deal allowed for continuation of supply.

First Usain, just for clarity, I'm suggesting that NCYT is now a prime, proven target. They WILL be under intense scrutiny by the big boys, but that doesn't guarantee a deal. However, it is now a strong possibility.
I don't go with Millionaires By Monday valuations, but I'd say anywhere upto £1B. Doubt it would go above that, given it's Covid centric outlook.
