Personally, I think it's a long shot. However, they could be doing it for a fixed fee as the shares they've borrowed could be AZN's already and they could hand them back at any price they had agreed after TO. Lot's of possibilities on that one.
The 1% shorted is small fry, but if it helps buy the other 99% a little cheaper, then perhaps a good investment. Just having that 1% shorted instils doubt and can hold back an SP.
I'm not saying that this being done, but there are several ways it could be done.

Usain, it isn't a five minute job to buy out a company. Huge amount of due diligence for a company like AZN to go through and to ensure that NCYT were the 'real deal' and not another wannabe.
Whilst doing that DD, you might want to do what you could to suppress the target's SP though. Just saying....

Haha, great fun and games going on here. Little doubt for me that AZN are trying to close a deal on NCYT. Was expecting it to happen yesterday, but these things rarely land when expected. The question is not 'why would they?' anymore, it's 'why wouldn't they?'......

Other great driving highlights - original 3.2 NSX manual, Esprit SE Turbo High Tail, 911 Turbo. All great on track or road. Not the best cars, but the most memorable.
The Westfield would have held it's own with any of them on a twisty track though....for a fraction of the cost!

Frank, know what you mean. I built a Westfield 28 years ago and it was huge fun for the money, a rocket ship!! Stupidly sold it ten years ago and have tried to track her down for the last two years, without any luck. Want it back for my son and I to spend some time on, but just can't find it. Still registered, but SORN. I have advert alerts on all the usual sites, but she's never come up for sale. Need to find me a helpful copper.....

Love people like that, the value of the car is just relative and they like people getting enjoyment from it.

The more I see original Vanquish at c.£70K, the more they look like the clever AM investment. Brutal looking car.
What a great 'back catalogue' AML have, they've produced some stunning cars over the years....

Very low numbers Frank, about 25 rings a bell.

Would be amazing if he does it, but think NH will fade later in the race. Silverstone is extremely demanding from a race fitness point of view and he hasn't gone race distance in F1 for a long time. Great story though, hope he does something sensational....
