The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
I know this board is to discuss GGP shares, but in defence of those who occasionally mention others - it’s only because I saw GGP mentioned on the SXX board that I bought into Greatland. I am extremely grateful to the person that mentioned GGP, I cannot remember who it was, but this information will, in the long term, help me recover from my previous bad investment.
Whoever it was - massive thanks,
ATB

I too would welcome any additional information please Spy.
I have only a hundred thousand shares and am new to investing and find some people on this board very helpful and am learning as much as I am able. My first ever investment was in SXX and, being a Yorkshire lass, I allowed my heart to rule my head and lost a lot - entirely my own fault, I know. I am trying to be wiser here and do as much research as possible, so you, Paddy and others have been very helpful, I thank you all. If I manage to recover some of my losses, I will be very thankful. That seems feasible if I keep my nerve.

I received a phone call from AAL representative this morning, asking how I was going to vote.
As I said to her, the BoD refuse to speak to us, fail to discuss an offer from a conglomerate and show outright contempt for the private investors and then the only contact we receive is an enquiry about the vote.
I am a NO, as I said to her, lost almost all my investment anyway, on principle I will not vote the way CF and board want. Wise - perhaps not, but feel foolish for believing CF in first place, not selling my principles to him as well. Can’t reward deceit.
I am really sorry for the investors living near the mine if there isn’t a turnaround because they will see work continuing and it is like having salt rubbed in the wound. I, like many others, let my heart lead, yes I wanted to make money, but the fact it was in Yorkshire was an added incentive, cannot rue the fact I love my county and wanted to see this work for more than one reason.
Investing in Greatland Gold - perhaps get some money from a resource in Australia- that’d be something- they can have CF back, he’s not a valuable resource, I will happily send him back in exchange. They can have him for 5.5p
Good luck all
Ruth
I am legit and I will take your advice not to worry. My first experience was a disaster and I sold practically all shares and bought into these. The last thing I want to do is spread doubt. I read up before investing in these shares and it all looks very promising , just got a bit worried. Honestly, no agenda when posting my question. I just wanted opinion of those more experienced than I. Will hang on in there. Thank you
Hi All,
I am new to trading and got very badly hit by ssx debacle. I have invested in GGP but read somewhere that JP Morgan are involved in some way with this stock. Is this true - and in what way? Sorry for my ignorance, but that concerns me a bit, because I believe they were a factor in the collapse of Sirrius. Should I be concerned?
I am a lth, average 20p, so too much to lose to throw in the towel now. I am still hopeful that an investor will be found. It makes no sense to leave this project unfinished when it has such potential.
I am also holding long term for purely sentimental reasons, (I know - not a wise reason to invest) because I live in South Yorkshire and witnessed the devastation wrought in this region when we lost the pits and the steelworks. It would be great to see something in Yorkshire that created jos, apprenticeships and gave the region a boost. Yes, I wanted to make money, but there’s so much more to this, for many people, than just the money. I really don’t think I am alone in this view. Wise- probably not, rich- definitely not, but I am not giving up on this, not whilst there’s even a tiny glimmer of hope.
