That long association is quite fascinating, crumbs.
It looks like Lindy has had a long interest in glycans as targets.
https://www.scancell.co.uk/anti-glycan-mab
3 out of the 5 Glycans mAbs target Lewis glycans.
"SC129: specific for the sialyl-di-Lewisa glycan, a target for pancreatic cancer
SC134: specific for fucosyl GM1, a target for small cell lung cancer
SC88: specific for the Lewisacx glycan, a target for colorectal cancer
SC27: specific for the Lewisy glycan, a target for gastric cancer
SC2811: specific for SSEA4 on human and mouse T cells with stem-like properties – a target for any solid tumour"
So, at some point, Lindy must have started research with the help of PhD students. A few years ago, the research was obviously advanced enough for it to be transferred to Scancell. Then Lindy had the setback of the mAbs losing their cancer cell killing potential when humanised. Not to be deterred she isolated what the problem was and hence Avidimab was born.
So, after more research, Lindy calls her old mate at Genmab "Anders, I've cracked it!"
Anders then starts searching for the company chequebook.
The previous paragraph is pure FANTASY :-)
