Yes, and I think the Modi1 trial signals Scancell's version of PB.
Obviously we all hope Modi1 on its own shows great success but down the line we are likely to see Combo trials IMO.
There may also be surprises on what the combos are. Conjugating the Modi1 targets with amplivant was a surprise, so in a way we already have a combination. IMO the role of amplivant ends on activation of the CD4+ TCells so it is not concerned with the actual attack on the cancer but nonetheless plays a pivotal role in the whole process.
Then on top of the Modi1 trial we have the collaborations with Biontech and Karolinska.
With a CAB of 6 clinical professors and the list of the original PB members we certainly see a lot of scientific interest in Moditope.
I know its frustrating with delays to all 3 planned trials but there must be valid scientific reasons for these delays. I would rather we have these delays to make sure we are properly prepared for each of these 3 trials.
The latest delay on the SCIB1 trial may be purely logistical and nothing to do with Scancell.
As for funding, it is difficult to make any prediction how things will pan out. For instance, will the SP rally on confirmation of 1st patient in the SCIB1 trial? Wiil this create some momentum?
Biontech may be waiting for initial Modi1 data before making a move. They may also be making a comparison with the science of their own collaborative trial with Genentech. So another frustration is not knowing exactly where we are with Biontech.
In such a situation, it pays to keep researching the science IMO. None of us are cancer research scientists but, speaking personally, it does help me to have a reasonable understanding of the way Lindy's vaccines work.
