I think sometimes you need to look at the p/e value when it was trading at 70p it was probably about 16 or 17 back then, maybe more, for small cap in utilities with hindsight was to high and the sp had got ahead of itself, some who had been in for a while probably took profits after years of good growth, well hope they did.
Now we are trading at p/e 5.5 so for me it comes back to debt and FCRM have very little and wouldn't have any if they hadn't spent on gas pipework utility assets for the associated annuity revenue streams and adopting the assets it constructs, alongside assets purchased from external utility contractors.
So if they choose the BoD can stop spending and due to the business being profitable be debt free again, but that is their decision.
The only downside I can see is the Dunamis Group not performing as originally planned due to EU regulations and FCRM have no control over that.

If I had to guess what will occur is that we will see some write downs in intangibles, is this a bad thing ?
I don't think so , the business will still be cash flow positive, just that something that can't easily be quantified or changed into cash will be given a lesser value, an accounting exercise, this may not happen but I wouldn't be surprised if it did.

Has the sp taken a hit yes it has, but the underlying business is sound, maybe the outgoing CFO has something to do with this delay, who knows why she is leaving, or was she pushed we don't know.
I don't think the company is a basket case, nor is it loaded with debt, is this a buying opportunity looks like it, if you trust the BoD, we will just have wait to see what happens.

These guys should try doing the opposite, buying while the sp is low and show some belief in the company, if they are selling why should pi's buy?
Completely the wrong message or perhaps the right message PTEC are treading water and the execs are happy to pick up their salary, free shares, and flog them when they can, hardly been overwhelmed with heavy director buys, in my opinion necessity buys to keep the acquisition of not buying shares at bay.

Shore Capital remains cautious on biotech firm Vectura (VEC) but believes there is scope for share buybacks.

Analyst Adam Barker retained his ‘hold’ recommendation on the stock after a trading update confirmed full-year guidance.

‘We continue to have caution around the overall strategy and note the limited visibility on the timing of possible capital allocation updates, mergers and acquisitions and/or licensing deals,’ he said.

You just can't beat sitting on the fence, I don't think he'd be sat on the fence if the litigation had gone the other way.
Makes me wonder if they put these statements out there to put people off the scent, and generally give the impression nothing to see here folks, move along.
The bottom line here is in spite of having to account for litigation costs twice, and write downs in the accounts due to merger reassessment of intangibles, headline figures are losses VEC cash balance increases, I thought he'd be recommending buy on any weakness.

Excellent progress and set of figures, cash generation and production proven and net debt down to $11.8m, in addition progress is not stopping here.
Our guidance for 2019 remains very much in our sights. We also remain poised to tackle new investment opportunities consistent with our strategy when we identify them.
Record production figures and record cash generation all bodes well for the rest of the year, the cherry on the top a low sulphur oil with increasing demand and is at a premium to Brent prices.

Its good to hear that XLM is performing as expected and the figures to back up the statements will be the last piece of the jigsaw.
As far as the share buyback is concerned, the shares are going into treasury as opposed to being cancelled am I right in thinking this will give XLM the opportunity if/when the sp doubles or even triples to sell these shares back into the market?
In fact I would prefer this as opposed to cancellation some time in the future, which to me just makes the earnings/share increase and at first glance you might think growth but in fact things are just the same.
Why shouldn't the company benefit when the market doesn't rate it, and they have the cash to buy when in general nobody else is, and then when sentiment changes make a killing, makes more sense to me.

Alfacomp, my understanding of your reply is basically in situations like this, it is the workings of the market, or if you prefer the manipulation of the workings of the market.
If you trust all of your research, and the BoD who are running the company then its just a test of faith until something emerges to encourage a reassessment of your beliefs.
All that's left is to sit back and watch this situation play out, and as others have suggested if you have cash available then based on research, knowledge and belief then it is an opportunity to buy.
Its human nature to try and pin point why this or that has happened and anybody can invent a theory to fit the events but that doesn't make it fact, its easy to get distracted when some negative comments are posted and perhaps they should just be ignored.

Yes I have the Bushveld Perspective bookmarked and check in from time to time, the shorting is what I am interested in getting an angle on due to a similar action taking place with one of my investments FCRM also listed on aim, plus this sort of action seems to be rife though out.
It seems fundamentals count for nothing, more so on aim but not exclusively, what I am trying to get my head around is how far shorters can drive a price down before an equal and opposite force kicks in, ( main stream investors) due to the price being driven to such artificial lows that they can't ignore the gift on offer.
This theory of course in based on the company in question being sound on all or most fundamental measures.

Thanks for your replies I am sure at some point I will be invested here, I don't normally post anywhere except where I am invested, and of those if they are doing fine a don't bother, alternatively if they are struggling I try to find positive reasons for the market to change its opinion.

I have been a few risky shares in my time and I don't see BMN any more or less risky than other investments I have made, i hold a few in SA at present, its nice to post comments and receive replies.
In its current predicament BMN is interesting and I have seen only good written about the company, your comment hits the nail on the head, the sky is limit here, but for what ever reason its going the other way.

Just as a passing comment browsing the comments no one regardless of their opinion doubts the company is profitable and well run, so BMN can do no more than continue doing what they are doing.

Even if the V price falls further BMN are making money just not as much, and still adding cash to the pile, no debt repayments required from declining proffit, from stockopedia a forward p/e of 9.7 if this correct, some may feel this is to high for company in SA and its risks, that may be a driver,
but I don't think its outlandish or over the top, so its certainly not all doom and gloom, just a question of how low can this reasonably be expected to fall?

I am sat on the side lines here, but it seems reasonable to assume this share is being shorted with success, but my question is why? what's the game plan playing out here? BMN is a very profitable company, perhaps the sp got a bit ahead of itself so a pullback is not a surprise, but not a collapse.
Recent RnS's have caused a bounce only to be wiped out by more selling back to a base of around 25p which seems to be a reasonable baseline, but without the recent news I feel this would of been breached, so my thoughts are, it is going to go lower before it goes higher if more good news is not forthcoming.
But my question remains who are behind this manipulation? is it a few hedge funds working in unison, a big fish working alone? I have no idea, and at some point this is going to back up, so are we talking short term gain for the organizations behind this action or something more.
I am pondering this because to keep shorting a company without debt issues or accounting malpractices being mooted, or rumors that that all is not as it seems, or a large cash call is looming, all the above are missing from BMN.
So to me its a mystery, an interesting one but still a mystery.

Very apt you should post your opinion regarding XLM, which hopefully will play out as you suggest, l just checked the share trades and low and behold there in blue for all see is two buys totalling 6.25m for a grand total of £3.125m, a welcome boost if ever one was needed, not a flicker of a movement in the sp though.

Yesterdays trading was still a cause for concern in my eye's plenty of sells of significant size and occurring in batches, rounded numbers as well 10k, 20k, 50k,
Hoping that we do stabilize after what's been a rocky ride, on the plus side we do have some buyers soaking up the sells, and the speed of the rise does confirm when and if sentiment finally does change we have the ability to move upwards and quickly.

Confidence booster if one was ever needed, from the beginning to the end of drilling and opening up this well for production they have proved they know what they are doing, even when they had minor set backs with the weather, I like the fact that they RNS d their problem and didn't hide it, they did have option to not bother and just let things slide for a couple of weeks.

There has always been talk that this would happen sooner or later, similar sentiment to you Rivaldo, I would of liked to of kept these long term, but its not to be, it does make me wonder about when the sp declined a few months back for no apparent reason, is it just the working of the market or something else well we will never know, not complaining though a decent result at the end of the day.

Sorry to put a downer on your comments jl but I am not sure the decline is over just yet, still plenty of rounded sells at 10k, 20k and 50k, so I don't think our seller has used all his bullets just yet.
Great to see today's rise and shows that the sp can move in both directions, plus not long to wait for the full year earnings release which hopefully will tell us mushrooms the true state of goings on here.
Not sure whether today was bargain hunters driving the buying or genuine change of sentiment, tomorrow is another day in the FCRM saga we will see how it goes, and i won't be surprised by anything this illogical market does.
