Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
The thing the government is waiting for is a quality reagent they already have there manufacturing companies lined up and as I see it will all be producing a standardized pipette, cassette, swab etc that will house the choosen reagent and strip.
Which would make you think that everything will be awaiting confirmation of which reagents will be used and will be ready just to insert strip into the casette so huge numbers will be made available rapidly.
Can't wait for next week.
The government will be very aware of everything going through porton down.
They know Avactas smaller clinical evaluation data was excellent and are awaiting full CV data, if it is replicated Avacta will most certainly be supplying the reagents for the sovereign test.
If for some reason it doesn't replicate previous data and is not as good as a competitor then I think the government will go with the best test they have available who ever that may be.
Final CV data shouldn't be far away from clinical evaluation data big Al and all the team at Avacta have been refining this test for the last year in preparation for this moment ,these tests will have been rigourously tested and this is why big Al is so confident.
The brh test results are only based on analytical data. Although there initial data is encouraging they have many hurdles to overcome to get a product to market they are months away and not direct compition for Avacta.
The whole point is to break the chain of transmission, if people are tested at an event then you have missed all the possible transmission between people traveling to that event,
Possibly infecting thousands of people who are nothing to do with that said event.
If tested 1 day prior to the event all those possible (travel) chains of transmission have been broken.
There won't be much testing at venues as such, testing will need to be done the day before and uploaded to an app.
The problem is the travel before people get to venues ,did they travel in a car with friends? On the train with hundreds of people? Some times even on flights, how many people will the come in to close contact with just getting to and event.
Transmission is just as dangerous from travel to venues and events as the events themselves.
Yes it can also work the other way which I feel is more likely in a larger study, where that one fail would equate to say 2 fails per 100 or 2 fails per 150.
The final data won't be far away from the data we already have.
Not until we are well out of the woods and most of the world is vaccinated,at which point testing will be mandatory for all border crossings ,flights, ferry's. Paid for by the customer and no cost to the government of course.
The latter will continue for many years no government or country can risk new varient flare ups. No-one is going to take getting back to normal lightly.
I think we can be quietly confident that CV results won't differ massively from the clinical evaluation data we already have, they are after all both taken from real life clinical samples.
Tho it will be a relief to all to have the final CV data.
Published on different dates ,would be great if they were separate tenders.
Unless the latest published one is to suggest the tender is anything between 0-8billion first one suggests 1 buyer for 8 billion which is strange it's a hell of a lot for one buyer.
Will have CV results last week in march possibly towards the end of next week I think.
Will certainly be glad to get everything out in the open and know some hard facts ,figures and projections and to finally find out what the story has been all along I'm sure there will be a few surprises.
Exciting times.
Looks like the sovereign test is going to be producing much more than the original 60 million per month.
BBI and Abingdon must have a part to play in this, funny how the "many tens of millions per month" once scale up was complete at BBI And Abingdon is no longer mentioned in our capacity,it's also a coincidence that that capacity was due to be completed by april.
It's been quoted a few times now that there are alot of companies involved in the massive scale up of manufacturing for LFT's, can be absolutely certain BBI and Abingdon are part of it along with many others.
