When they "close their short" they re buy what they essential borrowed (stole) from someone elses stock who didnt want to sell. to close the short (e.g they sold 1,000 for £11 so took out £11k. but closed the short by purchasing 1000 shares at £1.50 so they paid £1500 to replace the shares and thus pocketing the £11k-£1.5k = £9,500 profit)

IF they had shorts open and longs then yes, they could close the short. create a squeeze and sell their holding at the top. Its how TW and his gang operate. short a stock and then close at the bottom. go on a ramp mode and then when they think its near the top - they short sell in a group of 6-8 of them. borrowing stock that isnt theirs just to cause a panic sell and bearish movements. hurts the pi hurts the company and sentiment. shorts are scum

1.80 got another 300k shares but 1.99 to buy right after! Share price has been decimated in anticipation of funds selling but watch POG interviews from the last year or two and see that this for £75m is crazy cheap. Should be closer to £700m (16-17p) fair value, although half of that in 1-6months would be unreal. 1m shares is £18k but would be £180k if recovery is right

Used to be ftse 100 now trading 1/10th of the price by no fault of the company. POLY (just like EUA) is an unaffected 10 bagger on sale. Eua probably has more upside time wise but POG , POLY and anything in Russia are discounted and worth looking at
