STRASBOURG, France, Jan 15 (Reuters) - Europe's online gaming industry on Tuesday condemned a German ban on Web gambling as unlawful and urged the European Commission to overturn it. The law came into force on Jan. 1 and bans online gaming and betting, except on horse racing, in Germany. EU Internal Market Commissioner Charlie McCreevy has sought to crack down on cross-border hurdles to competition in the gambling sector but has faced opposition from countries such as France. He had already launched legal action against Germany before its law came into force. Commission officials are due to decide in coming days whether to push ahead with legal actions in the gambling sector against several EU states. The European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA) said the German ban directly contravened European Union law on the free movement of services and called on the European Commission to take swift action. "We urge the Commission now to fast track our complaint and launch infringement proceedings against Germany," said EGBA secretary general Sigrid Ligne.

im staying in and see what happens 30th jan. scared investors may pull out now i realise their mistake. at this price i dont think it will be long until big investors start considering the oppurtunity. also the whole general market has taken a beating. like most people we are suprised that it has fallen so much, with a 20m fine sounding so little and party not even having a strong base in the german market. im sticking in with this one.

i guess i was wrong few weeks back when i felt prty would stay above 28p. that was my prediction before i knew about the gambling ban in germany. that is the only thing that has moved the value of this share price down and the share price hasnt moved down on the basis of lack of interest in the share. from what i understand partygaming didnt have a strong base in germany such as bwin did so i dont feel it will have much affect on turnover, although they have lost growth prospects in that sector. i have been analysing peak traffic times and they are way on the up for this quarter compared to last quarter. also partybets has been doing very well recently, alot of people have signed up for the freebet bonus and the partybets name is being mentioned in most places such as tv and the recent darts tournaments, and this is what an emerging brand needs. i still believe this share will be way on the up in the mid - long run and i feel the the current board is capable of doing that.

smiler23 was trying to ramp this share up to 7p if im correct. notice what has happened now to people who listened to him at the 3.5 - 4.5 range, they are now sitting on a large loss. Just because people recommend shares, it doesnt mean you should jump straight in. you need to do your own research. ive seen alot of this happen on these boards where people jump in on recommendations. well its their bad luck because they are the ones stupid enough to do it and now sit on a large loss. common examples include this, SOLG @ 40p range, ERG, RNSM, WNG and loads more.

i agree with shatter this news was generally being expected by the market anyway. like i said before this is not likely to go under 28p, the only time it was lower was when there was rumours of shareholder sales. its good to see that prty are doing some good advertising on the partybets side and poker traffic is still good. im expecting a decent update on jan 30th.

the time the antigua-us decision is made i have found out is 6pm london time. i still have a firm belief that it will not go under 28p, im sure of it. but if it does i will buy in aswell. azzuri there have been loads of announcements on the UIGEA. since the trading update 2 directors have bought in, banks and credit unions are disagreeing with the UIGEA on the basis that it costs them millions, the EU - US have agreed a settlement deal although it wasnt what we wanted to hear but it has been priced in, and the antigua - us wto announcement is today.

the price will not go anywhere lower than 28p in the running towards 30th jan. the last time it went below that to the (24p and 25p) was when there was rumours about directors selling more share holdings; which never happened.once people realised it ws just rumours it jumped back up.

alot of good news today hence the small rise in sp. seems like US banks and credit unions are backlashing against the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act. i will links in a min. oh yea next date for antigua - us is 20/12 and then january 18, hopefully they'll issue some news in dec.

alot of these penny shares need alot of research and you have to be fully up do date with news within and around the business. alot of shares people have been mentioning such as this one, solg, erg, wlw and others have not lived up to people expectations because they did not fully research the companies with a fine toothcomb. yes all these shares did rise but people did not enter at the right time, they had bought at the peak and are now sitting on a big loss. this is what happens and then they cant understand why they sit on a loss. ive just come off them boards and people are saying they are on 50% loss. also i have noticed some people enter these shares just off a persons recommendation but what they dont realise is that they will be taking a big risk if they do that. also some people just read the recent news about the company but you need to go fully into the background and even analyse their accounts. research,research,research - people underestimate it too much.

now that prty has no chance to go into US, will Private firms see this as a good oppurtunity to get them back in the US? well i think this share is as good as any other oppurtunity for a private investor to take on and will make bucket loads of cash for them just on potential. rumours will start flying about takeovers in the very near future i feel, hopefully one or two may materialise. but what should the shareholders get? i think we could get anywhere around 40+p considering how lucrative this would be for a private investor.
