The UK and France are not able to contain Russia without the US, a very dangerous idea indeed. So, if a settlement is made, that would only give the Russians time to regroup in their new territory and then, when ready, smash through into the rest of Ukraine and beyond. The small forces the UK could provide would be overwhelmed and leave the UK facing disaster. Europe needs to have military spending at 10% GDP to catch up and start getting its citizens used to a different world, one where "woke" will not do.

Yep, SL will have ~30 years of pumping and is likely to get even bigger as more is known. Oil can't stay at something like $25 a barrel for very long.

Nick - I think the whole point of this is to get EU and others on board and shut out China. He wants them to put tariffs on China, too. So, a free trade zone with the US for "friends", neutral get some tariffs, enemies (China) get killing tariffs.

Murphy Oil - ~29000 barrels a day from Shale in the Eagle Ford Shale fields.

2024 analysis estimated the Eagle Ford Shale break-even price at around $66.35 per barrel.

Suddenly, RKH could be much more attractive for US mid-cap Oilers. Right now, I would bet they would like to switch the shale to 29000 of SL in a couple of years, at a $24 break even.

The current trajectory will see China and Asia run the world and the West crumbling. So, it's time to protect IP and trade and try to sink them before they sink us.
