Redon. I cant accept that, the country of Italy owns its resources and nobody else! I can accept costs being reimbursed and perhaps some compensation, but thats all. Its very dangerous ground to let companies smash your government legally and asset wise!

I am not disputing that they signed up for it, I think it was wrong that they did. I still dont like it and they have left now anyway. But the legacy remains and one that they will be less than happy to pay!

With the Right Wing Italian government now in power, I can only see them delaying and using every trick they can. So if it does go to asset impounding, I just want to have an idea of how exactly that takes place and how long it could take.

Im sure the Italian public would also back the government telling an Oil company to do one, Oil companies have a bad reputation, especially these days. They could score some brownie points by being as combative as they can.

I cant help but think there are more twists and turns ahead, I really cant see it being a simple decision shortly.

Not relevant, but I find the idea of a central government being bullied in this way unacceptable, I can understand claiming back costs, but future earnings is a bridge too far for me. I don't like the idea of private companies now being able to hurt countries on a decision that is surely their sovereign right.

So who goes and finds any assets in the UK? I am trying to get a idea of how much longer it could roll on for if the Italians tell RKH to do one.

Im just not convinced that it will be the payday some think. I know the more legally informed here have stated its a solid claim, where the Italian government could have overseas assets seized .

Yep, what us so called "de rampers" and "boiler room" boys have been saying months - There is still no real progress on funding, nothing concrete. All the things they have done regarding funding i.e. Pathfinder bank, LOIs dont actually cost anything much, its talk and talk is cheap !!
