robleo, rather than "not true" (I misread your question) "no", no tax to pay in a SIPP

Not true I think see:

Well obviously if held in an ISA or SIPP as I do there is no divi tax. But even then it seems to me of no benefit whatsoever.
I can buy back the 4/19 shares that have been taken away with the 50p per share I'm given then I'm roughly back where I was before all this messing about? Or am I missing something here?
"Tesco plc wants to pay shareholders some of the proceeds from the sale of its Asian businesses.
This will be a one-off payment, called a special dividend, of 50.93p for each share held at the end of 12 February 2021.
When a company pays a dividend, it’s normal for the share price to drop by the same amount. Tesco wants to keep the share price roughly the same before and after it pays the special dividend. To do this Tesco will reduce the number of shares every shareholder owns. Shareholders will get 15 new shares for every 19 shares held. This won’t make a difference to the overall value of your holding – the total value of your new Tesco shares plus the special dividend should be similar to the value of your current holding. "
Anyone know why they want to (try to?) keep the sp the same?
ojo2020, Yes and very funny!
It's a test not a vaccine??!
McLean I mainly use this board to get information. I then look elsewhere to confirm. Tbh I have no problem with BS. Also I have been reading these boards since around 2014 so I'm well aware of who is who. On an anonymous BB I don't care if I come over as naive, stupid or whatever as long as I get something useful.
Actually I didn't buy any but I'll confirm in July.
I bought some SLE shares today. I'll let you know if that's true or not in July.
Well it appears what has been done is not illegal or against AIM rules (assuming there is any oversight of these rules by the authorities?) - I have no clue about this. It then becomes merely immoral on the part of SLE/Tosca/OF.
I suppose if I make some money from this going forward I may forget about it. If not I may become one of these embittered trolls ... Well this wont't happen as it is a waste of time but I can see how it can happen.
Either way I don't have the time to even consider taking it further and who cares what I say anyway.
Moving away from flippancy, what you say is all well and good but 7 months for us to be informed? Somewhat different from 2-3 days to settle ...
So is the EGM going to be held according to the EGM notice
Monday 1 February 2021 at 3.00 p.m
or should I treat that as a vague possibility?

I'm most concerned about a system that permits someone to say they did something when it has not been done. Clearly no one else is concerned about this - even the so-called trolls haven't really jumped on this one - so I have to assume this is perfectly legal. It does rather put in doubt any RNS statement for any company.
TW86, yes my post was in ref to that RNS.
I am and remain a long term holder and in terms of attention I dip in and out but this, after some reflection, has very much disturbed me.
Despite previously trying to dismiss this as not serious, looking back to the RNS in May 2020 it definitively says OF "has purchased" - what do these words mean if he didn't? It's complete b*****ks! If I am in the process of buying a substantial asset, let's say a house, I say "I am buying" and do not say "I have bought", pretty simple. Therefore why believe anything said even in an RNS?
And if it was Tosca that blocked this, as suggested by BS, don't they approve RNSs before release?
"San Leon, the independent oil and gas production, development and exploration company focussed on Nigeria, announces that it has been notified that Oisin Fanning, Chief Executive, has purchased a total of 98,000,000 ordinary shares at a price of 21.0 pence per share on 07 May 2020. Following the purchase, Oisin Fanning has an interest of 107,495,864 ordinary shares (23.89 %) in the Company."

Obviously at very early development stage, no idea about scaleability etc but interesting.
One interpretation is that because of the large buy the MMs need some shares, drop the price and people will sell ...
Well the Guardian article does say
"The UK’s Immingham Altalto project will use 500,000 tonnes of waste to make less than half the fuel (than Enerkem), or 60m litres a year."
I don't know if it is as clear cut as that ie what is the cost per L of fuel produced using each method?
Or a Welsh born England cricketer ...
I just looked on the SL website and it says OF holds 9.5 million shares so it's the LSE site that is out of date.
