Yes chart indicates debs has the capability of rallying now and again over the years and paying a divi whereas pfd is a 4p dog stuck there in the mire for as long as 2reincarnated. My husband made losses with pfd through listening to constant rampers who have been talking the thing up for about a decade or more whilst having the bare faced cheek to deramp an assortment of other shares which at least have a chance of recovering! Husband should have listened to honest folk like me and others who traded it then he might have made a modest profit. Wouldn't touch it with a barge pole now though. Funnily enough one of the guys who traded it honestly and made a few bob has a house in Clermont but it wasn't bought with the proceeds from pfd lol. Think you'll find he was brainy enough to earn big bucks working at a creamery. Can people earn well in that field these days I wonder. I like to support Lockerbie for obvious reasons but the cheddar is bowing out to the competition and that Scandinavian style yoghurt has no pro biotics. Give me Rachels or Yeo Valley any day or even the old ski whose name is being taken in vain in my opinion. How's the pound faring today?

I should have said rbs less of a basket case than pfd though and fewer rampers on their bb imo and some signs of green shoots there.

would give deb's a healthier looking share price of £4.00. It's what complete basket case companies like premier food and rbs did otherwise their share prices would be 4pence and 20pence respectively but on a more serious note it does tend to stop people day trading.

Well done with both shares. I have been doing a little trading of cpi over the months but still have an increasing core holding and same with cmcx whose staff sound quite impressive on Share Radio which I think was going to be accessible on line only from a certain date. Certainly looks as if cpi are on the turn now so patience has paid off Good Luck.

I can see you like Jeremy NG but the feeling probably wouldn't be mutual as I suspect he would regard the likes of us who trade the markets as not making good use of our time and he would probably prefer us to volunteer to drive folk to hospital for dialysis or whatever even if we do generate a bit for the public purse in terms of stamp duty, capital gains and income tax although you probably pay in less to the system than me as some of your trading methods will be tax exempt and in isas. I reckon Jeremy might even ban short selling and you might think less highly of him then lol. LOL not sure if mks in your previous post was markets or Marks (as in Spencer - Karl spelt differently.) I was watching the body language etc. of a lad last night sitting near a camera and he went for Jeremy on zero hours contracts. Said he was a student who liked the flexibility they offered him. Jeremy though is not daft and can spot the genuine article. Said to the guy they are no good if you are a dad or mum with hungry bairns to feed or words to that effect. Plus the guy spoke with Received Pronunciation and I doubt he has ever done a shift in spd or anywhere else. I once told a "hard up" fellow student that there were Saturday vacancies going where I worked and I could put a good word in for her . Hi NG I think I remember you posting on this or another bb before the last general election or the independence or EU referenda about how you liked Salmond and Sturgeon and their popularity (possibly on the wane) is one of the threats to Corbyn pulling off a victory. I know you predominantly short shares so a Labour victory possibly suits your self-interest if you are being honest. I am quite keen on the idea of free course fees south of the border again as it will give young Scots like my children more mobility again to follow their dreams to Oxbridge or anywhere else in England that takes their fancy but in another sense I feel that Oxbridge is a bit overrated and I can save a bit of money by providing them with free board and lodgings if they choose somewhere nearer home. Hope that is as altruistic or selfish as your own position. Need to go 95th birthday party. Not mine!

Your health is your wealth so they say so get well soon. Was at a couple of different deb branches yesterday with different opening hours buying wedding gifts - not bottom of the market stuff and not too posh either for which there must still be a huge market. Even if folk aren't getting married then they are still setting up home - sometimes more than once. Long holidays for me this year and one is very swish so think you would approve - whether I come back any healthier though is debatable and probably more likely to end up like Henry VIII when presented with non-stop food but will then have the basic slim line normal hols to come. Had a bit more time and checked my spd trading account to see when Dave and I had one of our little disagreements. Found most of it on the bb entries for July 2016 and this little peach from DD who was mentioning the Takeover code himself and had this to say "As the majority and controlling shareholder if MA wants to take it private then he could via a leveraged buyout. The norm is to put in an offer to buy the remaining shares at 35%-40% above the current share price and see what the shareholder approval level is and take it from there." Have a good week folks. To me takeover, taking it private are just semantics and would boil down to the same thing IF it every happens but the takeover code would apply. As I recall it in November 2015 you were implying that the company had little money and I probably responded along the lines that they must have some money if they were taking stakes in other companies so at the time you were probably (a) univested and just observing ; (b) thinking of buying before selling in June 2016 after the referendum or (c) unsure of what you were doing. If I was Mike Ashley and I wanted to buy back my company, I wouldn't be encouraging staff to hold onto shares for a lengthy spell and offering them a bonus for doing so. When investing here pre Brexit were you saying the takeover price would be (a) higher than £3; (b) are you saying at the current time on lse that it will be £3 ; (c) on another forum that could be sub £3 or (d) all of the foregoing. You have me on ignore lol and I have never trusted or listened to you because your comments have been all over the place and I don't care to have any repeats of the outburst you had on here at the end of November 2015 with me just because I was making a bit of cash. I appreciate you claim to have lost out big time here but that was eleven months ago and anybody who listened to you probably lost out too. In a situation like that the best thing to do is move on and don't feel bitter or apportion blame to anybody other than yourself.
