I tend to take the view that placings to the select few - in this case the accounts managed by First Eagle Investment Management LLC (the "Placees") who are existing shareholders in the Company - are a cheaper but more unfair method than a rights issue for handling situations like this. That said British Land had a placing to iis to fund new projects recently and the share price is now well above the placing price so it could be argued that all shareholders have benefited - though some to a greater extent than others lol. Not sure that it's healthy for one shareholder to still be holding so much of this company's stock. What are you hoping for yourself here. More liquidity as a result of today's news or happy to sit in long term for the divi and hopefully a rise in the share price to somewhere nearer the price this was at earlier in the year?

Yes looked at page 5 and thought at first that it only had an advert for champagne and a colourful image on the other side. "Tin hat time tomorrow" you say but in reality those 3 articles of column inches put very little more flesh on the information available last week. The SFO is in charge of the investigation not the Press. You can have all the regulation you like but it needs to be enforced. Are you aware of any penalties meted out by the UK Listing Authority for example to anybody other than a former Chairman of Morrisons for breaches of the Disclosure and Transparency Regulations. Are you aware that if personal investors make a complaint to the UK Listing Authority about suspected breaches of the regulations they are told that they might not even be told the outcome of their investigations and the personal investors virtually have to carry out the investigation themselves and present a case to the UK Listing Authority and have to get MPs involved to get an information out of the Listing Authority. One of the articles says more Soviet than City. I say Soviet and City are pretty much alike. And I think it is being a trifle naive to think that all companies and former companies headquartered in the UK and their personnel and major shareholders are lily white.

Excuse the Freudian slip in my last post. I, of course, meant Black Rock not Black Rod lol. This takes me back to the days when a poster on these bbs was asking another poster how to go about shorting his own shares - and it turned out at the end of the day that these two posters were probably the same poster lol. I have bought the Sunday Times and see that there are not one but two articles about enrc. Tomorrow Scotland's young people sit their Standard Grade English and I gather it doesn't include summarising these days - what a pity - but at least it does still include close reading or interpretation. I have read two summaries today of one of the articles on bbs and neither of them seem to tell it quite like the whole story. Missing is "Lord Goldsmith, the former attorney-general who is head of European and Asian litigation at Debevoise & Plimpton, has been hired alongside Fulcrum Chambers to offer legal advice to ENRC's board." And to be fair we need to note this "The company said it dismissed Dechert for a number of reasons including inapproriate communications, alleged improper billing and unprofessional handling of the investigation" Inapproriate billing by a professional firm is something I can empathise with myself at this very point in time. As for inappropriate communications, for all this alleged stuff to be in the hands of a newspaper might actually impede the SFO's investigations. Other than that if matters are sub judice or still under investigation, it's sometimes best to say nothing and await the outcome. ATB

Thanks for steering us back on topic. I touch type and I can remember times on other bbs when I would have rushed out and bought the paper and typed out the article in full or summary form for bb readers - but not these days. I personally benefited last year from a Sunday Times article which suggested that pfd were close to agreeing new terms with their bankers when there was a temporary spike in the share price possbily as a result of the article - only for the company to announce later in week that the "news" had been premature causing another ripple in the share price. As I see it, the SFO investigation and the possilbe takeover situation are two entirely matters and I am not sure if this article says anything about the possible to. If anything, I wonder if the consortium would think about making a knock out offer just to deflect some scrutiny away and attract some decent pr for a change. Let's hope so eh for the enrc and kaz holders. Can think of other takeovers too where I have analysed all the form 8s lol. Funnily enough, over the years I have done more in Edinburgh with Tesco clubcard vouchers than anywhere else - a lot on the Royal Mile - though some of the stuff has been axed and one or two added to the scheme over the years. Scotch Whisky Experience, Camera Obscura , Witches and Cadies and Auld Reekie tours and the Loch Ness thing and Real Mary's Close used to be in it. Festival very much up my street but the Royal Military Tattoo not something I personally would rush back to but if your from a navy background like my late dad might be something you'd want a front row seat at. Mrbigitup was not bashing kaz. Far from it. I think the deleted post was along the lines of what a depressing bb this is, buy a book, learn about resistance and support levels, grow some and start trading these. The heading (something like Forking Hades) and sentiments and exact words were echoed by others including the captain and the other posts on the thread are still there so I think it's probably the case that somebody is bearing some personal grudge (as is often the case on these bbs) against Mrbig and has reported his post. I know mrbig from eo takeover days. He likes a bit of a laugh and joke but I know that this game is deadly serious for some but only a bit of harmless fun for others. BTW Lodan, I read the kaz bb a bit further back and found the mystery poster who had asked you when you had gone long at kaz and it was pete the trader after lunch time on Monday so at least that one hadn't been deleted after all. Apologies to all enrc holders about these references to kaz bb on here but I think it is inevitable- particularly with the goings on at the moment GLA PS Capt - you used your tesco clubcard rewards for some days out in Dundee or the Highlands as I gather you are around that area ATB

I'll not be reading the kaz bb or many other bbs for that matter over the summer months. Very occasionally, the bbs are worth reading for some nugget of information which turns out to be 100% accurate which you would otherwise not have been aware of - but you have to wade through an awful lot of less useful shall we say posts to get there. It's not really important when you, I or anybody else bought kaz. Neither it nor tesco have been shares that I have had any long-term interest in though the captain seems to think otherwise and if that floats his boat then who am I to upset him lol. On the question of giving straight answers, there are so many issues affecting companies that it's seldom any of us can say for sure what the answers or outcomes to future events will be though many on these bbs will state categorically that they know things for sure and fail to distinguish between facts and opinons . A case in point is enrc right at the moment. There are a range of things that could happen and none of us know for sure at the moment though we can speculate all we want to about the most likely outcome. As for providing you with a list of posters who are or were interested in kaz and who have either stopped or cut down their posts on the bb then 3 identities are more than enough and it would be rather churlish and tedious for readers here for me to go on further. Besides one now infrequent kaz poster didn't like it one little bit when I gave him a name check on the cup bb and he told me so on the kaz bb so you might want to tread on folks' toes on these bbs but I never set out to do so intentionally. For somebody to have reported mrbigitup's comical kaz post this week is laughable but it shows you how petty and small minded some folk on these bbs can be. I trust you are in better spirits this morning than you were last night. It is a nice sunny day here which I don't intend to waste. I thought I'd look in here to see if there was anything from Seifert who used to be one of the main posters on this bb - a lot of the posts though contained vague insinuations. If you cast your mind back to the kaz bb then you should be able to recall that Seifert said he would not post again on the kaz bb unless or until his dire price predictions came to pass . It was nothing to do with me "bulldozing" him off the kaz bb as the captain was trying to assert though I did reply to some of Seifert's more personal comments to me. I agree with Miningman's post here yesterday that the kaz bb is full of day traders. I note your concerns about posters making vague insisnuations on these bbs. There have been plenty of vague insinuations on the kaz bb over the past few weeks which you have not issued any stout rebuttals to though I have tried. You have asked me to do the legwork and locate a post on there which was asking you a question - a question which you did not answer though you were around the bbs generally the day it was posed. It was in the main not a rewarding task wading through the posts the first time but I did have another look and the post or the poster in question appears to have been been deleted as has a fairly innocuous and humorous post on there from Mrbigitup which the captain and ta trade complimented and I had it down as the post of the week myself. The question you were asked on the kaz bb incidently was along the lines of how long have you been invested there. It's not a question I am overly interested in the answer to now but the captain might be. Enjoy your weekend.
