Tend to take the view that where takeover issues are concerned, a serendipitous "development" could crop up during the sometimes lengthy process and, since I am in quite a good position here, I can wait till the cow's come .

Some say it was £2.47 a share in cash plus some shares in kaz and some say it was £2.70 not sure if that's cash only or cash and shares. A few weeks ago Goldy's mate at the brokers had heard about £4.00 a share - but was that an offer from somebody other than the consortium and somebody on iii had heard that kaz weren't to get a vote when it was probably that the kaz govt. weren't likely to get a vote in any set of circumstances. Who knew or guessed right yesterday - maybe not the boys at ft Alphaville who, I gather, were putting the old £3.40 about when I went out to another family birthday lunch on yet another Friday afternoon but Mr. Murphy's done a complete U turn this morning and well if you can apologise for thinking you got it wrong once then who's to stop you apologising again further down the line for either thinking you got it wrong or even actually getting it wrong. But if no news of a bid or extension by 5.00 p.m. today then enrc need to sit down in earnest on Monday and start working out how to address that 7% free float shortfall. Would Sully (apologies to the Monster Incorporated character) get the opportunity and would he want to pick up all of that 7% and anything else he can pick up. rrs closed today over £30 a share lower than its year high (it has been about £6 a share lower than today's closing price into the bargain recently) and arguably rrs's performance has been a lot better than enrc's and kaz's of late but nobody's advancing any conspiracy theories there other than goldmanminer and your goodself are having a lot of fun playing the swings lol

but could the Takeover Panel not rule that the kaz govt. should be ineligible for a vote alongside the other kaz holders. Whatever it's gripping stuff

You asked the question on the kaz bb and I said that I think the Russian would be pretty miffed and would that be allowed by the Takeover Panel. Surely all shareholders have to be treated on an equal basis. Did I read a recent article that said that kaz's stake in enrc is so big that it will have to consult its shareholders on this.

You might have a long day on Friday because the consortium has until 5.00p.m. to make known its intentions.
