Has anyone considered, that the best way to get best value for share holders, is to expand the register, making a takeover less likely than before, and proceed to production. We don't get diluted, yes we wait a few more years, but hasn't NM always said that was the plan. I just see this as natural progress.

I could be very wrong, as rock sampling Rand's have never set the world on fire. However, as we have a decent gold to copper ratio, over a concentrated area, and it's not contained, this news may be better than it first looks.

Various people talking about big buys, I am afraid I can't see them. A medium size buy would be a million plus shares. With the amount of shares issued, I would class a big buy as over 2.5 million shares a time. Even then we need 10-16 million shares a day traded day in and day out.

Referring to an inferred resource, this is when drilling is done over an area, and the drill cores infer a resource over that area, this information is extrapolated over the said area. This is not used, for a PFS or a BFS. For that we use indicated. This means we drill, across intersections, and closer together, so rather than extrapolating the information. We have hard evidence. The earlier results are used as a guide. This data can be used for preparation of a PFS and BFS. It is possible that the resource can shrink, so all these PEA results, that value SOLG, are an estimate, not true value. We cannot base any value attributed to the PEA, it's a tough estimate.

Good evening DG1investor, I concur, I would add I don't believe anyone could buy the whole shooting match, as too many parties would have to agree. Can't see that being kept a secret. Still like you, believe this is going to go to production. Maybe that's the delay. For me the big question is, why did BHP stump up 22 million. even with reduced costs, that won't last long. So guessing this is a stopgap, to what lies ahead.

Good evening Itfcmatt, I for one, do not believe you got that email from Solg for 4 reasons. First of all, the grammar is terrible, one example being turning Wheels, as opposed to Wheels turning. Secondly, The email comments on the copper price, and says Solgold often tracks it, It doesn't. Thirdly it says MRE2 is imminent. We have had MRE2, it's MRE3 we are waiting for. Lastly it implies other things are happening in the background. We suspect this, but a Solgold representative would never confirm that.

Good morning Optimus gold, I do understand your frustration, but in truth, if for some reason we have a standstill situation, it does unfortunately affect all news. I take your point, and agree that it is maddening. A quick point, is that a news blackout of this kind shouldn't give any party an advantage in theory. Although fully aware, that doesn't always happen in the real world. Someone knows what's going on, and not just the interested parties. I could be wrong, but as an individual investor, we all use our own judgement. Good luck.

Good morning Jerry, agreed, this is the boring part of investing. The company I used to work for, was taken over, we never had a clue. But the clue for the news blackout was over 2 years.

Good morning Qalibashi, the AT trades, could be for lots of reasons. A popular use is bulk buying days, in ISA's. Another, is people setting limits and day trading. Also algorythums, for small profit. Don't think it's Solgold, as volume far to small.

Agreed FTJNY, I see the news blackout as a positive thing. My thoughts are, if this was just bad news and nothing happening in the background. Then this would be price sensitive information, and I suspect it would be disclosed. However, if someone going through due diligence, for a bid, or takeover, then a news blackout happens. Same for funding, as just reporting day by day on funding that's not agreed, would in itself be determental.

Good afternoon Jerry, nice thought, however the distribution of the share register means that NM can block any bid by BHP, they would have to offer so much that Cornerstone, Newcrest, DGR and NM would sell up. Hence cannot see it. However I suspect this may come down to what represents full value.

Hi Jerry, their are many reasons this may not be considered price sensitive, also other reasons for not disclosing. One reason could be that we are undergoing a due diligence, for part or whole of the company. Also, it could be that they are simply behind schedule, and it's not ready to publish. Personally I think it's the second, but who knows.
