RE: Buy dips21 May 2020 14:34
Good afternoon Zoros, I wasn't going to answer this question, as felt many on here, with more up to date knowledge than me.
But here goes.
In order to understand if a market is manipulated, you first need to understand how the market works.
Let me state, what I am about to divest is not earth shattering or illegal, but in short, Markets are not manipulated by MM's.
The price you get for the next trade is the last trade with some factors, these include, blocks offered up, a sell price and a buy price. Sometimes the spread can widen, and it can narrow. Usually when it widens they don't want you to buy, they want it to settle down and take stock, if you sell at this time, shares are picked up on the cheap. When it narrows, just assume that we have enough buyers and sellers on each side. Not true in all cases, as I am sure other posters will say, but as a rough rule of thumb, it's pretty accurate. The problem we have at Solgold is the number of shares we buy and sale everyday. It's a tiny percentage of what established companies trade on. We need to get this up to at least 0.5% of total stock in issue, that is currently 10 million a day, brought and sold. 1% would be better at 20 million a day.
If this was to happen, the price would firm up, and we would create some underlying support for the share price.
Because we trade such small volumes, any sell, where the following shares offered up are small, can lead to an overcorrected price. In a negative way. So in short, price not manipulated, just not enough interest in us, at the moment.
