RE: Select FEW23 Aug 2020 10:28
Good morning addicknt.
First of all, I have never thought or said, that because something has not happened before, that it won't happen in the future. I have said the opposite. I have always said, that if we get a deal near to, or full value, based on NPV, that NM would probably recommend it.
Also I accept, we have hired the people necessary, to reject a low ball offer, and reject hostile bids.
Are you really saying, that no interested party, is going to make a bid, before BHP. Where is your evidence for that.
I would have thought quite the opposite would be true.
Imagine that NM and BHP, work out a friendly deal, before 15th October, are all the other companies going to say, ah well we did our best, of course not.
If any company, thought they could acquire Solgold, at a discount, they would have done it by now. So they know they cannot, for many reasons, I have alluded to in the past.
So I do not believe NM will sell this cheap to BHP.
We are left with two options. A hostile takeover, or forwards to production.
Let's cover a hostile takeover first.
The only company, that would launch a hostile takeover, would be BHP. Why ? because all the other companies are free to do it now, and they haven't. Do you really believe that all the other main holders of Solgold shares, would sell cheap, and help BHP, against their own interests. I say no. I don't know your answer addicknt.
But now let's look at production. The further we go down this path, the more value is added. But also, we have about 2 years left to finish all the studies, and start building, or as I understand it, we lose our license on Alpala. The longer a company waits to take us over, the shorter time period they have. So it's not just a question of completing their own studies, if they choose not to use Solgolds, but it's a case of changing the cooperate governance of their company, to meet the Ecuadorians government's requirements, as we had to do for the licenses required for water.
In short, I have listened to people for the past 7 years, saying, I wouldn't want to be out of this over the weekend, as a bid is coming next week, that I have become weary.
There has been no consolidation of the book, in fact in has become wider, making a takeover, even less likely.
People forget that NM holds the largest amount of shares supporting his position. By his involvement with other companies. This cannot be discounted. I don't think that NCM, or any of the other main holders, are going to sale this cheap, to BHP, or any other company, because they understand what they have.
In fact it is more likely, that they would want to help Solgold bring the building of Alpala to fruition, in order to not only protect their investment up to now, but to watch it grow. All the best.
