I don't think many of you have a good business brain. If you want a title for a audio book, it has to be a title that makes you want to go out and buy it.

There does seem to be a gap in peoples knowledge on here, why a diverse register is important, not just for Solgold, but any investment. I am surprised by this.

It's easy to understand, why the share price is what it is. We have no sustained volume, and so this will not achieve a more realistic price. Also most shares don't trade at a premium to NAV, unless well established and good profits, or you are a Google or Amazon type enterprise.

Exactly aos1, not only did you have limited memory, and had to use it carefully, but some of the machines I worked on, didn't have the physical bytes in the hardware. Some mainframes were 30 years old when year 2k arrived. People replace hardware much more often these days, unless you are a supermarket or bank. I know Banks still using IBM power 4 technology.

Don't mention Cybersecurity, this is an area run by very few experts. Companies today are ramping up this area, as it is the growth area in computing along with big data, and quantum computing. This is where high value jobs in computing are in the future. Networking Algo's are also going to be an increasing area of complexity. Always good to talk Redknight, but guess we ought to get back to Solgold, or we will annoy others.

We still used punch cards in the 80's, they were being replaced at the time. Good grief the 1960's and core memory with ferrite coils. People would laugh at how muck 1 kilobyte of memory weighed.
In the 1980's I did a 512 MB upgrade on a mainframe, we had to hire a mini crane, to lift in in place, as we put in the cabinets, and had to wire wrap the whole thing, with one person wrapping and the other checking. It had to be done slowly, as nearly impossible to correct. It took a team of 4 of us, two days, and it worked first time.

I did an apprenticeship in electrical engineering, when I was 16, so no A levels or degree. Then two tears training as an Actuary. I got into Supercomputers in 1984, when Companies were recruiting people that they could train. As the industry was just taking off, and many people came from different backgrounds. Some of the best Software engineers were Chemists in a previous career, I think I was lucky to live in such an exciting time.

That's why Redknight, I am interested in what you and addicknt have to say, as you often fill in the missing parts. When I am wrong, I admit it.

Hi redknight, I was a trainee actuary, and worked for a life assurance company at the time, this was when I was in my early 20's So I worked on Pensions, and unit trusts, investment trusts and assurance, as opposed to insurance, and helped with the design of new products. As a trainee, I did most of the checking, and suggested amendments, mostly in the way morbidity, and mortality was looked at. As although we have tables for this stuff, we can tweak them, by what is included and excluded. I don't have a background in cooperate finance, as I was not involved in actuarial work on managing the winding up of companies, or debt consolidation. I studied that, but no experience. My experience was in the investment side. However the greater part of my life was as a technical analyst in I.T.

Thought you filtered me Grimbergen, let's not forget that you were one of the main posters that accused me of many things years ago. like deramping, when I was asking questions to understand before investing.
Also any question I asked was met with sayings like we know your game.

We absolutely have a diverse book, as an example of a non diverse book, is when two shareholders can between them hold over 50%. This is not the case with Solgold and never has been to my knowledge. As we take more people on our book, it becomes even more diverse, and this is a good thing for long term shareholders.
If people start to consolidate, then we become less diverse, but as this has not happened yet, we remain a diverse book.

Thank you for the reply addicknt, but you are answering a different question, that I have not asked. You stated a diverse book was a huge weakness, not that it couldn't be overcome.
You stated this in your post on the 29/10/20 at 11.47.
However as I have said many times, becoming a more diverse register as we go to production does provide a defense with other measures.

Addicknt claimed that having a diverse book was a huge weakness, and made a takeover easier.
You are just stating a tie up between BHP and NCM ( which I think unlikely due to recent statements by NCM, where they state they would like to increase their holding ) was possible. I agree with that statement. But that wasn't the question.
