Dear Stevo 12, please correct me if I am wrong but I believe PMO put in place a full team to prepare for the development of Sea Lion. I am not aware of this team being stood down ( someone please advise). Would that not suggest that Harbour are not just interested in purchasing other companies old developments but are instead still interested in continuing PMO's historic intention to develop SL
I see potential lenders to the SeaLion project being very encouraged to find UKEF involved and vice versa.
FIG has promised to substantially pay for its defence out of future oil revenue. This would be very helpful to our Defence Budget.
I, therefore, believe if Chrysaor are seriously intending to press our button they will soon have to make that determination before the UKEF window closes probably before the end of 2021
If we add up all that we think we know as to the chances of Chrysaor pressing the button to develop Sealion
then the one great unknown is their view of the price of oil 2/3 years ahead. Surely if that view is in excess of a certain number
say $55 then they would be sensible to start pressing buttons quickly ( possibly very quickly )
FWIW I see this differently. To me this seems likely to have been a decision by PMO/ Chrysaor to wait until they have consummated their merger before having to negotiate with Navitas. Further I believe that a decision on Navitas by them will also be a decision on Sealion. Either you are a believer or not. I am !!
Auson, I think Majedies might be behind some of the sales but I doubt they could have managed anywhere near the 3.5m you mention.
Also it would surprise me if they were selling in such small amounts as they are in effect moving the market price against their still substantial holdings
Or he could be doing what it says on the tin !!
Clearing the decks to concentrate on developing the enormous oil province north of the Falklands.
Which, by the way, is exactly what I think they should be doing now.
